Pantheon Review – Archdemon

Review outdated as of 4/30/15. Updated ratings will be released each NA godfest.
The Archdemons have limited uses as leaders, but 2 rows, 2 skill boosts and a decent orb change make them excellent subs on any row team. They all essentially have the same abilities and awakenings which makes them boring to review individually, but I’ll do my best to point out the differences.

Belial – C+
Pros
  • 2 rows
  • 2 skill boosts
  • Orb change now 7 turn cooldown
  • Orb change combos with Leilan
Cons
  • Physical type is irrelevant
  • No NA skill up fodder
  • Active has long base cooldown
  • Poor leader
  • No second uevo with better leader skill
Notes
Fits well on a fire-based RSonia team. His lack of a skill up fodder kills his value as 17 turns base is horrible for a single orb change.

Amon – B-
Pros
  • Swole as fuck
  • 2 rows
  • 2 skill boosts
  • Orb change now 7 turn cooldown
  • Physical type good in water
Cons
  • Poor leader
  • No second uevo with better leader skill
  • Orb change does not combo with Karin
  • Active has long base cooldown
Notes
One of the few double row enhance water monsters, although the introduction of Sun Quan and Andromeda uevos also help fill that space. A good fit on BSonia and other water teams.

Astaroth – B-
Pros
  • 2 rows
  • 2 skill boosts
  • Orb change now 7 turn cooldown
  • Decent leader when paired with Cauchemar
  • Orb change combos with Cauchemar
Cons
  • Somewhat odd typing
  • Orb change does not combo with Meimei
  • Active has long base cooldown
Notes
Strange typing as wood attackers are trending towards TPAs rather than rows and there is minimal wood healer support.

Baal – C
Pros
  • 2 rows
  • 2 skill boosts
  • Orb change now 8 turn cooldown
  • Orb change combos with Superman
  • Change from L/L to L/D is an upgrade
Cons
  • Poor leader
  • No second uevo with better leader skill
  • Orb change does not combo with Apocalypse
  • Active has long base cooldown
  • Underwhelming light row support
Notes
Baal got the shaft as his cooldown upgrade is 1 turn slower than the rest, likely because GungHo is trying to tone down light and dark’s power. He’s one of the few double light row enhancers in the game, but light has unexciting and fractured row support so he doesn’t have a great home.

Lucifer – A
Pros
  • BOWIE
  • 2 rows
  • 2 skill boosts
  • Quick orb enhance active
  • Decent leader
Cons
  • Active has long base cooldown
Notes
This Lucifer is one of the best monsters in the game. His D/D form makes for a good leader (think Athena), but where he really shines is on a dark row team, particularly RSonia. While he doesn’t have an orb change like his brethren, the orb enhance provides a nice, quick burst. He’d easily get an A+ if he was an elite sub for DMeta and/or Pandora, but DMeta already has an orb enhance and Pandora already does enough damage/needs orb changers.

Pantheon Grade – B

The Archdemons put the Archangels to shame. They are fixtures on row teams and feature one of the premier monsters in the game in FA Luci. The entire pantheon suffers from long base cooldowns on their actives, but none suffer more than Belial who doesn’t have a NA skill up fodder. While some of the pantheon have decent leader skills, you should really only roll on this pantheon if you’re looking to improve your row-based team.
