Pantheon Review – Egypt 1

Review outdated as of 4/30/15. Updated ratings will be released each NA godfest.
Egypt 1 introduced combo gods to the game and a new way to play the game. The RGB gods are all beginner friendly and Ra and Anubis give more skilled players an avenue to dominate the game. Sadly, over time they’ve become overshadowed by newer combo gods with better actives and awakenings.

Horus – B
Pros
  • Powerful, easy to activate leader skill
Cons
  • Mediocre awakenings
  • Mediocre sub
  • Vulnerable to orb troll
  • Active of limited value to combo teams
  • Useless sub
Notes
Still a great starter and can clear a lot of content. Has an active that barely benefits a rainbow combo god.

Isis – C
Pros
  • Best mom.
  • Easy to activate leader skill
  • Extremely fast bind recovery active
Cons
  • Mediocre awakenings
  • Can get a 4.5x multiplier for much less work elsewhere
Notes
A good starter. While her leader skill ramps up to 4.5x, for the work needed to get that it’s better to use a different combo god with a similar activation but higher multiplier. Can also serve as a bind resist sub.

Bastet – B
Pros
  • Forgiving leader skill that tops out at a good multipler
  • Good awakenings
Cons
  • Mediocre active
  • Poor sub
Notes
Bastet’s effectiveness scales with your skill level and is a good leader to start with. Sadly, her active is only good in vary narrow situations which makes her a less than ideal sub.

Ra – B+
Pros
  • Powerful leader skill can clear most content
Cons
  • Leader skill will take some practice
  • Extremely vulnerable to orb troll
  • Underwhelming active
  • Mediocre awakenings
  • Useless sub
Notes
Despite many shortcomings, the power potential of Ra’s leader skill keeps him relevant if less sexy than newer options.

Anubis – A-
Pros
  • Most powerful leader skill in the game
  • Can clear every dungeon
  • Unlimited sub selection
  • Orb change recently got a cooldown upgrade
Cons
  • Impossible for the layman to activate
Notes
The One True God. If you can activate him reliably, you have the potential to clear all the content in the game. Sub flexibility is a huge bonus. As a plebeian I have to give him an A- just because so much skill AND luck is needed to use him. He used to be a terrible sub, but now that his orb change was reduced to 8 turns he nearly as terrible.

Pantheon Grade – B

The Egyptian 1 pantheon has lost a lot of its luster with the advent of the Kalis, Egypt 2 and many other leaders that require less skill but still offer high damage multipliers. Their biggest weakness is that they are horrible subs, but if you’re in the market for a leader it wouldn’t be a terrible idea to roll in their godfest.
