There’s a few important things to note about this godfest review. First, GFEs are at 4x and pantheons are only at 2x; they are both usually at 3x. Additionally, all GFEs are available both days. This actually creates a bit of tension. Even though the bonus is boosted, there is an increased selection of GFEs which dilutes the pool. I don’t know exactly how these two things interact with each other, but I can’t imagine that 4x is a good as it sounds. It’s the largest boost any region has seen so far, though, so if you’re looking for GFEs then this is the time to roll. It follows that those that just want the pantheon gods should probably sit out. The pantheon rate is already pretty bad at 3x so you’re only doing yourself a disservice rolling during 2x.

Second, both days feature the new Sengoku gods. This doesn’t mean much for non- or light-IAPers, but it’s a nice bonus for heavy-IAPers. The Sengoku are quite good for not having uevos, but outside very niche uses — like Sanada on Shiva Dragon or Akechi on Typhon — they won’t see much use. However, this is a good opportunity for heavy-IAPers that are chasing certain 6-stars like ROdin or DKali to get some rolls that aren’t dupes. Sure, nowadays MP is MP, but someday the Sengoku will get their uevos so if all you’re chasing are GFEs it wouldn’t hurt to get some of them in the process. Think of it as a nice little bonus value.

Finally, I want to talk about the grades. I based my grades on the normal distribution with an average grade being a B. As more monsters converge in power level due to upgrades, the more that fall under B grades. I just want to say that a B grade is in no way bad, this is just how my rating system works; as there are less bad cards the great cards stand out less as the ratings converge to the mean.

The Sengoku Pantheon

Overall, the Sengoku pantheon is quite good considering they don’t have their uevos yet, but their current usage is limited to specific teams. As leaders they aren’t all that impressive, but very few non-awokens are nowadays. However, they do have potential as subs. YamaP seems to be keeping his promise of renewed row support; the Sengoku, Greek uevos and MP Dragons (and I guess the awoken Norse, too) are a nice start, but hopefully we see more in the future. The Sengoku will only get better if there is.

Sengoku Pantheon Thoughts
Monster Notes
2265 - Fierce Warrior, Sanada Yukimura Sanada is a fine sub, his god type shining most on Shiva Dragon teams. His and Akechi’s orb changes are basically strict upgrades to the Heroes’, also enhancing their element’s orbs. As with all the Sengoku, his sub-oriented uevo will make him a total beast so there’s something to look forward to in the future. As a leader, he’s not impressive, but he should be a decent option for 5×4 boards.
2267 - Peerless Strategist, Mori Motonari At first, I wasn’t impressed with Mori’s and Summer GSonia’s board changes, but after playing with GSonia for a bit I’m ready to admit that the active is extremely strong. That two-turn haste just makes the rest of your team so much better. Sadly, unlike GSonia, Mori doesn’t really have a great home, but he’s still valuable on any blue row team. Considering he wants physical subs, his leader skill should’ve boosted RCV instead of HP.
2269 - Diligent Spy, Ishida Mitsunari Ishida basically has a Norn board change with a two-turn haste tacked on. That haste is so strong that it’s well worth the cost of an increased cooldown. Sadly, being row-based, Ishida doesn’t have much of a home in TPA-dominated wood. Without Gon, there’s no elite level wood row lead on NA.
2271 - Dashing Dandy, Maeda Keiji Maeda is simply overshadowed by all of the other light rainbow leads. 27.56x with no other bonuses just isn’t good enough anymore. As a sub he is essentially the poor man’s LKali, which is actually kinda praise when you think about how good LKali is. His orb refresh could have more relevancy in the future as that type of active is the only way to get rid of locked orbs.
2273 - Deliberate Rebel, Akechi Mitsuhide Akechi is the dark Sanada, but has a distinct role as a sub for Typhon. His orb change interacts with Typhon’s very much in the same way Pandora’s does with Juggler’s, resulting in a half dark, half heart board. He doesn’t have much use outside of this, though, as devil rows are slowly dying as dark moves towards combos and TPAs.

There isn’t much to say about the Three Kingdoms. While power creep has caught up to them, they’re still some of the most sought after subs in the game. I don’t think they’re worth rolling for during a 2x event as there are plenty of alternatives nowadays. The Sengoku aren’t a particularly good consolation prize either. If you were waiting for the 3K to come back, it’s probably a good idea to exercise some patience and wait for their next normal 3x godfest appearance.

The Greeks quickly rose from obscurity to the foremost row subs in the game. Ares and Hermes are particularly good because they go extremely well with their elements’ MP Dragons. Considering that the Sengoku are also row subs, this is a decent day to roll if you’re trying to strengthen your row teams, 2x or not. If you need some GFEs as well this is a decent day to roll, just curb your pantheon expectations.

  1. hey setsu! your blog has been killer as a relatively new player. So as of now, I’m running a krishna/ronia/gigas/homura/goblin (going to replace with yamato when i skill him up) and have a kirin/echidna/indra/kirin/bastet and bastet/perseus/perseus/meimei/weejas team in the making (waiting for the awoken forms and can’t really farm them yet at my rank). Long story short, would you recommend rolling this godfest? I am willing to buy around 2 packs for the rest of year and have 75 stones right now. Of both days, I have all the ronias, satsuki, gadius, and DQXQ. Thanks again and diggin that simley face at the end of ur blog!

      • I feel that PCGF isn’t quite as good anymore. The recent buffs have made some of the good pantheons really good, good enough to rival the quality of your typical PCGF. Maybe they will change things up to make PCGF more appealing in the future, but as it stands I’d only wait for it if a suitable godfest doesn’t come up for you.

    • Having access to your PADherder would really help in giving advice.

I’m actually not sure if it’s worth it to roll or not since we’ve never had a GFE rate increase like this. I’m assuming it’s good, but who knows. Hits for Sakuya would be LKali and Apollo. Hits for Bastet would be Verdandi, Kaede and Liu Bei. Hits for Krishna would be Urd, Sanada, Cao Cao, and maybe Ares. Krishna would also benefit from many of the fire gala rolls. This godfest doesn’t sound bad for you, but I guess it really depends on the GFE rate. I guess if LKali or Verdandi are on your radar, you may as well try a few rolls. Otherwise I’d pass.

        • I didn’t say PCGF is becoming weaker, but that certain godfests are becoming stronger. The problem with PCGF is that there’s always a few useless things that get voted in and now that certain godfests are so good that they have better overall value. PCGF is still a good option if a good godfest for you doesn’t show up by then.

After looking at your box, it would be unfortunate to get any dupe GFEs, especially since none of the ones you already have are particularly good as dupes. That’s really the biggest risk you run rolling in this godfest. If you’re patient, I’d wait. If not, then I wouldn’t blame you.

  2. Ugh the 4x rates are nice but I think waiting for regular 3x GFE knowing that certain GFE will not be included is probably more worthwhile as I can have peace of mind rolling for non GFE dupes

    Like

    • Yeah I’d really like to know how the rates compare between this 4x with all the GFEs and 3x with only a subset. I’m going to buy into the hype though, whether it’s better or not. In addition to wanting dupe ROdins and DKalis, I’d be down to roll any of the Segoku, get my first Cao Cao (sigh), or land Phoenix Rider or the new fire Cyber-things from the gala.

  3. Protip: Mori is OBSCENE (in a very good way.) on a Neptune dragon team. 6 total turns of haste means you can do some very cheesy things with actives, again in a good way. Like, using Hermes, and having him up again in two turns. I’ll be rolling day 2 for Hermes and Mori, may even break my non IAP streak for this one, as I’m missing so many newer GFEs, need more MP for when the marionettes arrive, and there’s no more star eggs, and less silvers. Win, win, win! GH knows what’s up lol.

    Like

    • Yep, I believe in the power of that active after having using GSonia’s. It’s the real deal. It puts the Sonia actives to shame, although I haven’t used them at 12 cd firsthand. I prefer it on a TPA team, but it seems pretty solid on Neptune Dragon.

      Like

    • Sanada is really good for him, yes, but it doesn’t create a perfect heart and fire board together with Gadius’ active. That’s Uriel’s part in the team. Rather, Sanada is pretty much like Typhon team’s Pandora but for Gadius.

      Like

    • Anyway, I really can’t wait for the archangels to get a new ult. It should help Gadius a lot, as they would be sub-focused and Uriel is simply his best sub.

  4. I know I have been telling you that I was going to roll hard for Akechi, but it seems all my Typhon friend went over to Zaerog. Is Akechi even worth using on a Zaerog team?
Also I don’t know what to make of this 2xPantheon, it seemed like rates were already low and the galas were more dominant, now it seems that it is going to be even more so.
Ill probably throw a couple packs just to see what I get but I don’t know why GH was compelled to change it up. I am going to cry if I see another Zuoh(already own 5).

    Like

    • Akechi isn’t terrible, but there’s not much use for his rows on Zaerog. At least Pandora brings a few more awakenings. The orb enhance is a nice bonus, though.

If Akechi is the only roll you want, I’d avoid this godfest. I’m thinking 2x is going to be horrible. I don’t think it will take long for them to feature the Sengoku again so I’d wait if you have the patience. But if you need some GFEs, then it’s not a horrible idea.

      • Yeah I feel like its a trap, but I do need a few non Guoh GFEs so Im going to roll. Suprisingly I still have no LKali for my to be A Sakuya. Im definitely rolling less than originally anticipated though.

  5. Longtime fan of your blog Setsu. I’m currently in a dilemma right now on whether to roll for the GF. I have a decently developed box but there have been some GFEs that just eluded me (aka Sonias, DKali, Ilm and co). Currently my main project is my Leilan System but I don’t have a Ilm to go with it or any other Skill Bind Resist Lead to main for that team and my next project would be a Awoken Yomi Team.

So I’m wondering about your opinion of if I should roll during this GF and if so which day? I was considering day 1 but I’m not so sure now since it seems like I would benefit from row subs more. I have about 25 stones for this roll.

    Below is my padHerder info.

I need someone objectively do a sanity check for me. 😄

    Like

    • If running the Leilan System is one of your goals, then it looks like there aren’t better options than Ilm or Tsubaki for leaders. Considering that they’re both GFEs, now’s probably the time to roll. So I guess it comes down to how much you want to run the team and how much you believe the 4x will improve your chances. I’d temper my expectations if you only have 25 stones, though.

Outside that, this godfest doesn’t look that great for you. If Yomi is your next project, there isn’t much help here. Satsuki and Akechi are fine, but you’d probably want to target a Haku instead.

      Like

      • Thanks for the input Setsu. I’ll probably think it over a bit more carefully on if I want to try for the GFE’s or just wait and store up stones for another GF. Tbh one of the main reasons why I wanted to make a Leilan system team besides being able to say that I have a chinese system team was so that I could be lazy with orb matching.

I’ll keep in mind the Haku suggestion the next time the Chinese God Series rolls around, but I’m afraid that rngesus might just give me more Leilan’s. TT

        Like

        • Yeah, I was thinking dupes might be a problem for you. Maybe wait for the PCGF? Haku is almost guaranteed and Leilan and Karin may not make it if past PCGFs are any indicator.

    • I was considering creating some metric to compare GFEs to individual pantheons, but since GFEs have more cards in it I’d have to normalize the ratings and that has it’s own problems. Suffice to say, since they booted the “rejects” out of the GFEs there’s really not any bad ones. However, they don’t compare all that well at the top-end either, with awoken uevos taking most of the top spots.

      Like

      • Thanks. I’ve imposed a restriction on iap (spent over budget chasing Liu Bei a while back), but 4x for GFEs is so tempting. Here’s hoping I can pull a LKali another time, I guess…

  6. Of the various “featured” cards in the upcoming godfest, I am hoping for DKali, ROdin, Ares, Phoenix Rider, and Ame no Uzume, and basically can’t decide how hard I want to whale. Thinking about just one pack for now, depending on how well that goes, but I’d really like to start putting an Ultimate Arena team together, and it seems like like DKali is a staple on Awoken Ra teams there.

Alternatively, I could save my money, and continue focusing on Awoken Shiva and hope that we get just Mamiya back soon, since I have all the other subs for Shiva teams that I’ve seen that have cleared it (Cao Cao, Urd, Nim/Christmas Hera), but I don’t know how consistent he is (vs Ra or Ra Dragon, which are apparently pretty consistent?)

    Like

    • I’m personally going to whale pretty hard. Like you, I want to prepare for the Ultimate Arena and a second DKali for Ra Dragon seems like the best bet.

I’m not sure how Ra teams have adapted to the Arena lately, but it seems like it would be much less consistent than Ra Dragon. Mainly for the reason of dealing with Awoken Kagutsuchi, something that plagues all of the awoken Egyptians except maybe Anubis, to a degree. Ra Dragon doesn’t care as much since he doesn’t need actives to hit his multiplier and has an RCV multipler to tank his way out of orb troll.

I’m not sure about Shiva, either. eskimoofthenight seems like he follows Arena clears pretty closely so hopefully he sees your post and can give you some better input. I think he goes under EotN on PF if you want to ask him there, too.

      Like

      • I unfortunately don’t even have one DKali yet, so I haven’t even considered Ra Dragon. Also god damn that art is ugly…
Good point about Kagutsuchi; that preemptive does seem like a pain in the ass, but worse, I’m not sure what you’re supposed to do about his <50% bind. Just stall it out? Yuck. I haven't tried Yamato Rush with Shiva yet, so I've never had to fight him before.
I'll have to ask eskimoofthenight about Shiva and the Arena; I did a bit of quick googling but didn't really see to much info besides screenshots.

  7. 4x seems like a huge trap!! But I wish everyone good luck!

Overall this seems like a great time for anyone looking to beef up their fire box, although it’s hard to go wrong even if you roll something else.

To the rest of us it just looks like an MP fountain, way too much noise from the lower rarity GFE’s. I’ll do a pack or two for Yukimura and DKali but I’m not getting my hopes up.

    • I think anyone that thinks the chances of getting a 6-star are appreciably greater are fooling themselves. From my perspective, I want to eventually get another ROdin or DKali so now’s as good a time as any to roll. I’m not fooling myself into thinking I have a good chance of getting them, though. I’ll be happy with getting a few out of the Sengokus, Cao Cao, Phoenix Rider, Markab or Thuban.

  8. I’m thinking of rolling with the increased chance at the GFE. I’m half heartily working on the Pandora/Yomi type of team, but I find using a variety of teams to be more fun. For harder dungeons I current use GZL, Ra for no recovery *the lack of LKali is huge in how constant he can be* Ronia, Metatron, and Pandora is finally making her way into the valid section. With all of my Athena friends going away and the power creep, she’s not so much a strong leader anymore. Kiriko has become my go to farming leader since over half of my friends list switched to awoken Bastet and Shiva. Bastet’s combos so bad for farming so Shiva TPA gets the job done.

Which day should I look at throwing a few rolls on? I think it boils down to Sun Quan vs Presephone and Ares. Ares being a “In case of Kiriko getting a Gon level ultimate, break glass.” I want to get a second opinion before I pull the arm.

  9. Hey Setsu,

Just going to say thanks again for this blog and all the wonderful advice you’ve given to me thus far, if you don’t mind me asking for your help again. I’ve come to a bit of a rut lately with my teams. Multiple attempts at godfests (including this one) have usually landed me with a string of silvers, or PADZ gold eggs and equivalently good MP fodder, and as a result, I feel like my box has very little potential. My dream is to be able to clear past Challenge 6 to Challenge 7, and to be able to at least have a chance at God Rush and Zeus&Hera Mythical, but none of my teams can pull it together.

The only really developed teams I have are LMetatron and Durga, and maybe sort of LKali, but as I’m sure you know, LMeta is outdated, Durga is really good/really bad at the same time, and I don’t really know if I have a good LKali team or not, although it can breeze through no-RCV dungeons (but any color leader can really).

If you have the time to, I’d love to get a new perspective on my box. I am nonIAP so this is really all I have to work with. Today’s haul was Belial #3, Melon Dragon, Mistrain, and a Hermes, and the past four godfests have given me consecutive Undine and Basilisk only, so nothing new really.

    Thanks in advance 🙂

  10. It’s hard to say since you lack any of the premier leads out of JP. I’d say your best bet is to use Awoken Amaterasu to lead your healer team instead of LMeta when she comes out. There are a few trade offs switching leads, but I think Amaterasu is much stronger overall, mainly because she’s basically invulnerable to everything that doesn’t one-shot her. The best part is you get to reuse all your healer subs.

Outside that, you have a nice foundation for a possible wood team and LKali is a nice piece for rainbow teams, but you’d actually need to roll a leader for them.

I feel like you should be able to beat some if not most of those dungeons you listed with the teams you have, although I don’t know for sure considering I’ve never really used teams like that. Have you tried getting advice for team comps for those dungeons?

  11. Hey Setsu,

Is it useful at all for me to roll here? I would only have 5 rolls and I worry about dupes. I’ve focused on green even though there is significant pii cost and have since Awoken one Meimei and dropped most of my piis and pluses on her so she is 1 pii away from hypermax. My pad herder (it is old because I haven’t gotten padlistener to sync right so levels and evos are off but you get the idea):

I also used a bastet team (Bastet/AMeimei/Caocao/Verd/LB/Bastet) to comfortably 0 stone z8 so am already seeing the benefits of this team.

Long term, should I be thinking of awakening my other 2 Meimei’s and dropping them on this team? Or is it better to keep it diverse with Susano and Verd and instead focus on building up my red team? I am almost ready to awaken Minerva and was thinking I could take her with some of my reds to some of these rushes. Alternatively, I could spend time prepping my z8 team. I didn’t think I had a shot at the dungeon so didn’t bother laying the groundwork ahead of time like you did and now have the happy problem of another option of a strong lead. Thanks as always for your advice. Having direction has really helped my progress.

    • I don’t think there’s anything particularly good for you this godfest. Day 1 is particularly bad due to dupes. Day 2 isn’t great either since I don’t see an overwhelming need for row subs. Unless you have a GFE you really want for some reason, I’d pass on both days.

I think it makes sense to keep developing your Bastet team. At this point, there really isn’t anything it can’t eventually clear, although cooldown increases give the team problems. I don’t think you need more than one Meimei. Susano should be your next priority as he really expands the types of dungeons you can clear.

Congrats on the Zaerog clear, btw.

  13. Hi Setsu, just wondering if I should roll here. I am a non-IAP player with about 140 stones and I pretty much only run a single team: ronia, haku, ccd, lilith/baddie, vamp with a friend beelze. I can 0-stone legend descends reasonably often (75%) and even the occasional mythical (10%). My only current goals are to “get better” so I’m looking for monsters to upgrade my current team, but if you have any suggestions on what direction I should go in in the long term that would be great too. As a reminder, on the 9/12 GF you recommended that I not roll. Thanks!!!

    • It looks like you’ve done really well for yourself considering your minimal amount of rolls. I’d have to still recommend not rolling this godfest. The increased GFE rate is nice, but I don’t really think they give you a lot of direction and outside the Norns they aren’t very flexible. The exception would be if you just really wanted a particular GFE as this is the best time to try and get them.

RSonia is nice and should get you pretty far so I’d just keep plugging along there, but beyond that I think you should look to leverage your two LKalis. A Chinese godfest is probably the best value since Sakuya can take advantage of the LKalis, dupe Hakus are quite good and the rest are great value in general. Ra is another option and any of the other Egypt 1 leads can give you some direction as well, however I think it’s easier to grow with Sakuya since you can use her uuevo before you get the mats and Pys for her awoken form. Outside that, just rolling for value should be your #1 priority. Pantheons like the Chinese, Heroes, 3K, and Japanese 1 are all great options.

  14. Hey Sets, always love to read your blog. What is you opinion on Tsubaki? I rolled one and I’m pretty interested in making a team with her, sadly I don’t have many Red or Ligt for her. I was thinking something like:

    Tsubaki/Gigas or Valkyrie/ Laila/ Unicorn Rider/ ?????

What do you think? I think I need better stuff to make the team work.

    Like

    • I like Tsubaki a lot and think she’s underrated. Her 36x isn’t all that impressive nowadays, but it doesn’t take up much space to activate which makes it easy to mix in a row, two if you’re very lucky. Sadly, I don’t think that team will work very well. I think you need at least one sub that can generate both fire and light orbs: Ilm, Leilan, Kiriko, or even another Tsubaki.

  15. With the Greco god series new split ultimates, is there any point in keeping the older versions for the different colors/ stats or are the 3 new awakenings too good? Just as an example, I like the dark fire persephone mainly because I like more hp and damage over more recovery but is she just purely outclassed by the dark grass version?

    • In general the new versions are far superior since they are only good as subs anyways and the new awakenings put them over the top, the SBR for Ares and Artemis in particular. The exception being their types, but I really only see that being relevant for Persephone on devil teams. I don’t think it’s a bad thing to keep the old versions if you prefer that stats, though.
