Not much of an update, but I thought the sole change warranted its own post: Baggi has fallen from the S to A-tier subs. I don’t think the demotion is justified, but one reason I do like it is that it might make people understand that water teams can be fully functional without him. I guess the change is just a reflection of the sorry state of water teams and that he isn’t quite as useful in off-element teams anymore. For high-uptime damage shields, fire has Phoenix Rider, wood has Armin and dark has DIza.
Now Cao Cao really seems out of place.
I’d been expecting Baggi to drop for a while now, honestly. BTW, Game8 also seems to be switching over to a numerical evaluation system at the moment. Not sure if they’ll carry it over to the main tier list but, it’s present on a few of the individual card’s evaluation pages. Ares scored a 9.0 as a sub. Satsuki was the only S rank sub switched over and she had a 9.5. Still waiting on Cao Cao.

Huh. Well, RIP Baggi. Haven’t seen him as a sub in the arena ever, so I guess that’s got to be a part of it lol.
With so little blue love going around, it’s not that big of a surprise. Still, he’s been there so long, it DOES come as a surprise 😛
Kinda like juggler losing S tier I guess. So much hype, then powercreep happens lol.
Personally, I think all the high uptime shields are S tier for their respective colors. An AS that is effectively 35% more HP and RCV 60+% of the time is really darn good IMO.

I agree that the high uptime shields should all be ranked high. I’m not sure why Armin isn’t rated higher (they have him graded as a B).

I would speculate it’s because of the existence of Susano. 5 turns of 50% is better than 4 turns of 30%, but uptime is key, and I feel like they’re just overlooking the fact that with haste, you can have 30% shield permanently… which is pretty strong in many many teams. IDK.
All in all, I think they focus on offense over defense. Think about it, Ryune/I&I are A+, but can consistently farm S tier content… I’ve been told. Susano is stupidly good as a shield, but not even on the list, while Liuuu bei was S tier far longer than he deserved to be. Indra is an A tier sub, while Kanna is S tier…?
All in all, the list is a bit wacky when it comes to subs. No real news there, we’ve been saying it for the past dozen updates or so, and it’s just gotten wackier as time goes on. The leads are more or less OK. Debatable, but OK. The subs though, needs some re-evaluation for sure…

That’s a good point about them valuing offense higher and it makes sense looking at the list from that point of view. It’s a bit strange since the earliest iterations of their list valued shields quite high, then they pretty much fell off except Baggi. It actually took quite a long time for DIza to get where she is. Armin aside, I’m still confused why Susano isn’t at least in the A-tier. Meh.
