Athena Ranking Dungeon Results

Breaking 110k with the cookie cutter JP team took much more effort than anticipated, but the stone cost wasn’t nearly as bad as Takeminakata. I was thinking this could be the ranking dungeon where I could push for top 10, but that ambition was shattered rather early in the grind. It remains to be seen if this score even holds for 0.1%.

I did try tweaking the subs a bit, but I found that the cookie cutter build was configured that way for a reason. I might try a few more runs with this team — or variations of it — in hopes of getting the 115k god run, but I’m pretty close to my limit. Now that I have a decent score under my belt I might experiment a bit, but I don’t expect much.

The skyfall RNG is about as tilting as I expected it to be. You can do everything in your power to reduce the chances, but the game still loves shitting on your dreams. I’m not exactly sure what’s worse, this or Takeminakata, but I’m leaning toward this since it feels so bad to get angry over skyfalls; something that is usually a welcome occurrence.

  1. This one is a killer. So much damn RNG. I have the cookie cutter team except I need to get a second Set ready so I tossed in Ares in his place. Keep running into boards with like 2 green and 1 fire because I try to clear 4 fast and get no new ones. Of all the challenge dungeons this one is my least favorite so far.

  2. So I think the length is a little tilting, but honestly I found taki infinitely more annoying: you were so desperate for sweeps+lucky skyfalls that half the time, you would instantly restart. Here, 1 or 2 isnt enough to completely knock you out of .x%

    • When going for top 10 they’re the same thing except in one dungeon your positive expectations for skyfalls are met and the other runs counter.

  3. Just missing shivadra for the optimal team.. any recommendations on a replacement? And would it even be viable to hit top 1% with a replacement? Right now thinking that Freyr might be suitable, seeing that popping the skill on the burst round would essentially give you the 4.5x you’re missing. Urd is an option.. maybe Cao Cao?

        • The problem isn’t the burst turn since you only really need that for 0.1%. It’s having enough orb efficiency to clear trash with off-element TPAs. So you’re just going to have to do trial and error and see what alternate lead fits best for you. Urd is probably a good place to start, but I’m fairly sure you’ll find it frustrating no matter what lead you use.

  4. I agree, this one was more painful than I expected. It took me almost 20 stones worth of stamina to get 0.2% with 107,302. The sky fall troll is pretty rough.
