Disclaimer: The aggregate list is basically a compilation of the leader tier lists from three JP PAD sites: Game8, GameWith and AppMedia. The idea is that while a single tier list can have many points of contention, hopefully an aggregate can kind of smooth things over (it doesn’t, really, but it helps a bit). I try to keep my hands off the results as much as possible; the extent of my involvement is setting the algorithm to aggregate the results. I wish I could be fully hands off, but as none of the lists have 1:1 correlation in their grades, I have to have that much involvement. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.

Not too much happened this week, so I’ll be using this opportunity to take bit of breather and keep the comments brief. One of the few things that happened was Game8 making what is essentially an honorable mention tier which consists of many of the leads that were booted last week. Considering I was complaining about how exclusive their list was last week, this is a welcome change. However, since this isn’t a “real” tier, I’ll be giving any card that appears there minimal points, similar to what is given to AppMedia’s S- tier.

JP Aggregate Leader List Changes of Note

Card Notes
2943 - Destroying Wing Dragon Emperor, Sherias Roots
Change: 2➞1

Granted, the preset team given to us in the last JP Challenge Dungeons was garbage, but I’m still not as high on Sherias Roots as all the lists appear to be. It’s not because he’s lacking power, either, but rather that everything looks relatively weak compared to Kaede.

2969 - 星刻の時龍契士・Miru
Change: 3➞2

I’m glad the lists are slowly coming around on Miru, but I still believe Sumire needs some love. I wonder if their places would be reversed had Reco chosen Sumire instead? Yes, this might be giving a single streamer too much credit, but I’d have a hard time believing that he didn’t have a significant role in her current popularity (and we all know popularity definitely has a role in how these tier lists play out). I guess the June Bride REM has a strong influence, too.

2662 - Awoken Pandora
Change: ❀➞3

Pandora is one of the few beneficiaries of being included in Game8’s new consolation prize tier. This just goes to show that it doesn’t take much for a card to see movement in the aggregate list.

New Card Holding Tank

New cards will be held here temporarily in an attempt to isolate the aggregate list from knee-jerk ratings.
Card Notes
2920 - Godlike Chivalrous Thief, Robin Hood
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), Game8 Co-op (A), GameWith (A), AppMedia (S+)

Robin Hood, plenty powerful with his current sub pool, but I wonder how much higher he’d be rated if a card like Kaede or Vishnu were balanced.

2924 - Rebellious Demon, Oda Nobunaga
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), Game8 Co-op (S), GameWith (S), AppMedia (SS), PadPlus (2)

Nobunaga should debut at tier-2 or higher once his time in the holding tank is over and it looks like he’s well deserving of that placement.

2916 - Emperor Veteran, Napoleon
Ranked Sites: GameWith (B)

Sub pool aside, Napoleon topping out at 39x ATK vs. the 81x of his brothers makes him relatively weak. He’s much easier to activate, but that comes at the cost of too much firepower.

NA finally getting the co-op everything patch might have given me a hint as to why Liu Bei is #1. At first, I didn’t understand why a co-op leader would be popular on a friend-finding service since you’d have to coordinate with your partner outside the game anyways and you could always add them as a friend after you finish your first co-op run. However, since Liu Bei teams are fairly uniform and straightforward to play, there’s much less to coordinate. This basically eliminates the major drawback of co-op: wasting time finding a partner and actually communicating with them. So it’s likely that the more Liu Bei friends you have on your list, the more likely it is for someone to hop into your public room for some quick farming without having to bother with some kind of third party app (although I’m sure those are still very popular as well). At least that’s how I’d like to think it is; my JP account is far too low rank to see firsthand.

  1. Sherias Roots shouldn’t be sharing rank with Ra Dragon. Only advantage as leader is more flexible activation, but that’s it. Let’s just hope the ult will at the very least give him anti-bind awakens.

    • For the most part I think you’re correct as bind immunity is certainly a big deal. However, I think one advantage Sherias Roots has is being able to use the buffed Ragnarok Dragon to its fullest potential and using Sakuya to clear binds isn’t the worst thing in the world.

      Like

      • Touche. Ragnarok Dragon has those sweet killer awakens, and having 3 monsters at minimum on your team with God Killers would put monsters like the Kali sisters in a world of hurt.

The gravity part of A. Sakuya’s active could backfire a little against a damage absorber though, but chances are you’re already just pinging away at their health and won’t be triggering any lethal attacks, which are mostly critical health desperation moves.

  2. So what are your opinions on Awoken Da Qiao & Xiao Qiao? Due to the reshuffling going on with uKaede she got the boot but now she’s back in flower tier. I’m tempted to dismantle my Amaterasu team for ADQXQ.

Also Miru is freaking hilarious and if her dungeon isn’t Scarlet hard I am so getting one. Skill ups can just go RIP but she will farm everything for me and I can just stuff my Thor subs onto her as subs without worry, but replace Pollux with NYHanzo

    • I can’ t say too much about DQXQ. I’ve run the team a couple times, but for some reason I prefer GKali, probably because GKali comes with 2 time extends vs. DQXQ’s 1. I think both teams are really good and I enjoy the rainbow-rows playstyle a lot.Like you said, with Kaede raising the bar, they were unfortunate victims of powercreep, but are still very strong. They should be quite good for a while, they complement a Saria-Thor team well and will serve as a nice bridge to Miru.

The Miru dungeon is not easy, but co-op finds a way to trivialize just about any dungeon. In this case, there’s a Liu Bei-Dios team that makes it look fairly easy, including the mythical plus version. If you have a Liu Bei, I’d strongly recommend trying to make the team even if you don’t have the “optimal” subs. Outside that, I haven’t really researched teams for the dungeon, but there’s gotta be a good team comp for what you have, especially if you start to include co-op into the picture.

  3. Yay Panda Chan is back!

Reco’s 2 hour video of clearing Arena 3 solo with Miru probably had something to do with it haha.. I’m just amazed by how powerful she is. Glad she was upgraded in the rankings. When I think about it.. with only a 49x multiplier, you can easily beat the hardest dungeon.. so there’s no doubt that Sumire should be on par with Miru… In fact, these heart cross waifus should all be at the top tier… being able to dish out damage with a constant Indra shield is pretty OP.. only rivals would be Xiang Mei and Ra Dragon. When I watch more videos, I think Sumire/Kaede might be better in Arena runs thanks to their damage control where as Miru can only do no multiplier to 49x.. it hurts when going up against bosses like Sopdet and Parvati

All the other cards like Robin Hood/Noba/ that are extremely strong but lack the HP/tankiness.. then again, these tier lists like you said are very inconsistent.. mixing in the rankings with multiplayer allows for cards to have less need for HP multipliers.

    • I’m glad they decided to finally push another farmable lead. I think this gives quite a few people some hope of getting an elite lead, especially when you consider most of the top leads are 6-star GFEs, collab golds or from the MP shop.

It’s funny that you bring up Sopdet and Parvati. I know a lot of people are running specific subs just for those two floors. I know of a few people that are once again using the Tengu leader-swap strat on teams that have no problem with damage and can give up the sub slot, like on Ra Dragon. Then there’s also the option of bringing an Orochi or two to help with those floors. I guess it’s also worth noting that the heart-crosses can survive Sopdet’s and other floor’s nukes with an Indra shield.

  4. Dear Setsu,

How come Game8 threw Rukia straight off its rankings?

Thank you for continuing to blog, helps a ton!

    Like

    • Good catch. There’s only two possible reasons for that. 1) Rukia was lost in the mix up of Game8 reshuffling their tier list or 2) Game8 actually thinks Rukia is neither tier-worthy or popular. Oh, right. There’s reason 3: Game8 fucks up all the time. I’m going to go with a mix of all reasons.

      Like

      • Thank you for your explanation! Seeing that she is till not back on the list seems like reason 2. But I’m still a big fan of her!

Also I just rolled a Sumire! However, I only one is that other ways to build a team around her without trying get 2 more….?

And when will you do another update on your teams :P??

        Like

        • You can build a Sumire team as long as you have heartmakers like Andromeda and Gabriel. The team obviously won’t be effective since it won’t have the haste synergy and abundance of time extends a multi-Sumire team would have, but it should still be effective.

Teams nowadays have devolved into specialized co-op teams for a given dungeon. I almost never solo anymore. I’ll consider updating it in the future, but I have higher priorities atm.

          Like

          • Oh I see, never mind then. I will just wait for Miru to play a heart-cross lead.

Is it because dungeons are harder to beat without co-op?

            Thanks Setsu!
