This is a help thread, so please feel free to ask questions on just about anything concerning the godfest or your teams, box and progress in general.

This thread has become increasingly difficult to manage. I’ve thought it over, but I think the current system is the best considering I can’t modify any of the software on this site, the base WordPress comments offers no sort of moderator support and I want to allow anonymous comments for as long as possible. An external tool is not appealing, either. So the only thing that will change going forward is that rule breakers will have their comments removed, without warning. If it turns out too many people are breaking the rules, I’ll reevaluate how to manage this thread in the future, but for the most part people have been great so I don’t anticipate that.

Anyways, here are the rules. Please read the rules before posting, especially if this is your first time:

  • I will only take box questions that supply a PADherder. It makes it much, much easier for me to give good advice this way (you could say I can’t give good advice without the sorting options). Try PadListener to sync if you’re on Android (if it works for you), otherwise use this method.
  • Box/roll questions that don’t supply rank, IAP status and main teams will be ignored. Any other information you want to supply will only help.
  • Please check the FAQ after the break before asking a question. Questions that aren’t covered by the FAQ will be prioritized; questions that don’t may be ignored.
  • WordPress flags comments with multiple links. I still get the comment, I just have to approve it manually for it to show up on the site. So if your comment doesn’t show up, this might be the case. Ideally, only post a single link to your PADherder.
  • I generally reply on a first come, first serve basis, but if there’s a low hanging fruit I’ll address that first.
  • I will post a comment in bold red when I stop taking questions for the day or end the post altogether. Please look for and respect these cutoffs before posting! I’ll allow questions after the day 1 cutoff to queue up for the next day, but no new questions will be taken after the day 2 cutoff.
  • No new questions will be taken after the godfest ends. Questions asked in other posts may be ignored; please wait for the next godfest!
  • Follow-ups to existing questions will be taken as long as the post is still open for comments.
  • I’ll close the post for comments a few hours after the godfest ends.
  • Any comments breaking the rules will be removed without warning.

FAQ

This is FAQ is a work in progress.

  • I’m rank 200 or lower and low- or non-IAP, should I roll for X god? – In general, no. Even if the RNG gods blessed you and you just need that one god to perfect your team, early on you should be focusing on accumulating stones and waiting for a high-value godfest. You want to accumulate value to increase the overall quality of your box so you have more team options in the future; not only is the meta always shifting, but there’s no single team in the game that can clear all content. The Player’s Choice Godfest is generally the best value early on, but normal godfests can be plenty good nowadays depending on the combination. Pantheons that have a wide variety of uses like the Heroes, Chinese and Three Kingdoms are great. Minimizing dupe chances should also be a high priority. Also, don’t underestimate the effect the current gala can have on your rolls and be sure to factor in the GFEs that are omitted or have reduced chance (i.e. you want to maximize your chances to roll DKali).
  • Which MP Dragon should I buy? – This image isn’t perfect, but sums it up nicely. Credit for the image goes to fether from the subreddit. If there’s ever an updated version, please point me toward it.
  • Why is X monster rated higher than Y monster? – The monster ratings aren’t there to be an accurate, authoritative resource on a card’s power, but are more used as a ballpark estimate to give a relative idea of how useful a given card or pantheon is which is used to help evaluate godfests.
  • Why is the overall rating not an average of the lead and sub ratings? – Long story short, when grades are given using the normal distribution, cards that are both good as leaders and subs get a boost while ones that are bad as both get penalized. This is because most cards in the game are usually only good at one role, not both.

Grading scale. Ratings are weighed in favor of endgame viability. Ratings try to take the latest JP updates into consideration. The overall grade is not an average and is based on the normal distribution of the combined lead and sub ratings.

It feels like everyone has him already, but Liu Bei is certainly the star of the entire godfest. Outside of those that refuse to do co-op, he should be a high priority to acquire as he enables access to an easy to assemble, endgame farming team. It’d also be nice to get Awoken Cao Cao sometime this century.

Egypt 2 is one of the worst overall pantheons in the game and are badly in need of buffs. They’re mostly fine as subs, but are horrible as leaders. I’ve been using Nephthys as my main leader on my JP alt. It went really well for a long time, but now that I’m getting into the late-game, how bad she is has become painfully obvious. I’d like to think their leader skills get huge upgrades with their eventually uuevos, but when has a uuevo ever been a relevant endgame lead?

I guess another thing to note about day 1 is that this is the only day Kaede and Sumire are at 3x. It’s also a light gala which is relevant with the farmables MZeus and Miru basically defining the endgame.

For a long time, the Sengoku were powerful enough to be considered elite subs even though they didn’t have a uevo yet. Now, outside a few niche uses, they’re basically reduced to being skill inheritance assist skills; extremely good ones, to be sure, but it’s very hard to justify starting them at this point in time. I’m still optimistic that they’ll get uevos this year; sooner rather than later.

The Norse have always been a solid pantheon since their awokens and got situationally better with the upgrades to their split uevos. They’ve lost some prestige as leaders, especially since their tankiness has been surpassed by the heart-crossers, but they should remain useful cards for a long time to come.

The gala for this day hasn’t been announced yet, but I’m hearing whispers that it will be dark. Which would make sense looking at the gala history, but I wouldn’t plan around it until an official announcement, as always (edit: confirmed dark gala for day 2).

First, Thanks for your blog, it has helped me greatly with my PAD account.

Status: Im basically the “smart” type of player if you will. I can hold a large amount of stones without really being tempted to roll and I also never roll collabs. Im also pretty lucky with my rolls. I clear mythical plus at like a 40% rate, Legend Plus at a 60% rate and mythical/legend dungeons are EZ MONEE unless I choke.

I just have no idea on where to expand my account. Like what MP Monsters should I get?

Should I save for the GF Exclusives GF? (I have 42 stones atm)

Should I sell anything I have for MP?

Are there any improvements you see possible for any of my teams with the monsters I have?

When should I start rolling collabs? (was really tempted my dat rukia)

Any monsters in the REM specifically that I should chase?

Thanks again for all the work you do here and I really appreciate it!

    • I guess the question is: do you want to keep playing smart, or do you want a change of pace? If you want to continue playing smart, I’d probably consider gearing up for a Miru team. Even just a simple team of 2x Wukong and 2x DQXQ with maybe a Saria thrown in somewhere should take you pretty damned far and raise your overall clear rates. I’d also strongly consider getting an MZeus for easy co-op clears, or even raising a Liu Bei-Dios team (which can farm Miru skill ups fairly easily), but if co-op isn’t your cup of tea, I get it.

Miru is kind of the cop out answer right now since it’s so easy to recommend her for everyone, but I really think the power of the heart-cross makes her that good. I actually think MP cards aren’t that great of an investment right now and Miru is a big part of that.

If you want a change of pace, it’s just as simple as identifying the team(s) you want and pursuing them. Value is still important, but it’s no longer the most important criteria. Collabs are rough. I think you can start pursuing them whenever you want as you’ve already accumulated a lot of great value in your box. But yeah, if you’re okay with taking the gamble and you really want the roll, I can totally see rolling for them. I think the key, especially if you’re low/non-IAP is to temper your expectations; there’s a reason why you’ve avoided collabs up to this point.

As for what things to target, I can’t really recommend one thing over an another. Where you’re at in the game, I think it’s best to identify which teams you want to pursue and modify your want list accordingly.

No! not everyone. I’ve been playing for 2 years, spending more than $20 a month, and I don’t have Liu Bei or any hero not named Andromeda.

    • If it makes you feel better, I’ve never rolled a Lu Bu, Haku, Akechi, or Loki in over two years, and I’ve spent considerably more than $20 a month 😛

Regardless, if you’re rolling for him, best luck!

      • Still have my two Liuuu Bei from my old Dandi teams. I used him also on Bastet because I never managed to roll an Vishnuuu.

Similarly, I’ve got two Vritrae from my old SVL push button team that never sees the light of day anymore, so it’ll be great to breathe new life into my dupe Vritra and Liu Bei with these awoken forms.

        Like

        • For me, the most relevant buff for Vritra was the increase from a 150x Grudge Strike to 200x. Of course, Juza already had this, but it’s nice to have a dark version and Vritra’s also hits all enemies. Combine this with type-boosting dungeon and the multiboost awakening (like Athena Another) and you can do some fairly impressive damage with it.

    • Is it safe to say you IAP? I don’t think anything on either day will help your current teams. If you’re thinking about a Pandora team, then day 2 will be good with Akechi and Loki and the now confirmed dark gala. The Norse dupe risk is unfortunate, but the Sengoku are all good value.

I’d probably focus on Yuna, and Pandora if you make the team. Maybe get Sephiroth high enough to snag an MZeus. Since you have two DKalis, Ra Dragon is always an option. He’s currently on the decline it’s not an automatic pick up, but he’s still plenty powerful. As you get more cards, maybe new options will open up for you.

  5. Not too psyched if it’s dark to be honest. Sheen is the only Jewel Princess I currently have. (Still more interested in the Legendary Heroes though.)

I’d love an excuse to roll day 1 to get in on the light gala, but I don’t need any of the gods. I’m even good as far as Dragon Callers go. (Unless someone can convince me any of them are good skill inherit sources.)

I feel a little bad for Freyr and Loki. The Egypt 2 series is all but due for split/super ults.

I mainly comment this time because I’m debating if I should IAP this godfest; I feel DQXQ would be a great addition to my box, both as a sub for my guilty pleasure June Gadius Team I’m working on (Yes, I bought him with MP; No I don’t regret anything, especially since I have a friend who I can use to farm MP with easily if I end up wanting Xiu Min or otherwise), as a Saria/Thor sub, and as a leader in her own right. Oh, and as a Miru sub once she comes out.
Even if I don’t get her, I feel Cao Cao, especiall if he’s a respectable leader in his awoken form, and even now, would be a good addition to my “getting there” Fire box, and even an Extra Liu Bei wouldn’t hurt so I can keep my quick verdandi farming team.
My only real fears in doing this are getting more Sun Quans, Lu Bus, or any of Egypt 2 except MAYBE Nepthys or Nut. And, of course, being generally trolled, probably by getting another Pollux or Ariel or something of that nature that I already have several of.

And, as a final, somewhat related matter that may sway me; I feel like I have a workable Sumire team in my box, but not the eye to work out the specifics of what I should be using. If I have something usable, I’ll probably try working on that rather than trying to roll for a specific god here.

    • Another good reason to get DQXQ would be your Apoc, whose skill up fodder is conveniently in the next coin rotation…

All in-game signs point toward it being a good investment — most of which you already pointed out — so just from that standpoint I would. Sure, there is some dupe risk, but where you’re at in the game that’s basically unavoidable. The light gala is a small bonus.

It’s always hard giving people IAP advice because it really comes down to their financial situation which most aren’t comfortable talking about nor am I comfortable asking. I guess, imagine if you put in X dollars and don’t roll DQXQ, would you be really upset? Could you easily accept not getting her? Would there be any hardship in your life if you spent that money? If the answers to these questions were easy, I’m sure you wouldn’t be here asking me this right now, but I feel like if you rationally think about it for a while you can usually come to the correct decision.

I actually applaud you for getting June Gadius. He actually looks really fun to play. I hope he works out for you.

I feel like both Sumire and Kaede need a dupe or two to really start kicking. The obvious reasons being the haste synergy and the raised consistency of activation. Since your only good heartmaker is Gabriel, I’d probably pass on the team until you get a few more subs.

      Like

      • Well, after spending about $45 on stones (I don’t have enough personal spending money to buy a full pack), I can say I didn’t get the DQXQ I wanted, but I got something I didn’t expect at all – 2 6* GFEs. After rolling a single one in a year and a half of playing, I figured I was cursed to only receive Ilm.

Now I have Blodin and Blonia. Along with my other loot, Radious, 3rd Sun Quan (I might just make 1 of every evolution at this point…), Another Zuoh, Nut, Ars Nova, Cao Cao, Ganesha, Fuu, Thor, and Green Wee Jas. At least a few of these are gonna become MP, more than likely.

With my new Bluedditions, I feel like I have an, at worst, cute water team with Sarasvati, and, at best, something easier to play than pandora, who I’ve proven to be…not fantastic at (See: Can’t clear Arena 1 with a hypermax team, save for 1 skill level, so clearly more of a skill issue more than anything) but around the same power level. That is to say, Ryune + I&I. Or hell, maybe even Neptune Dragon, who I know is similar in playstyle and power level to Pandora, but I’ve seen my friend’s Neptune Dragon shred through dungeons like they were nothing and I’m thoroughly impressed with him. Or just pair up with him with that new Blonia I got.

Still really wish I had Andromena, though.

        Like

        • Funny you mention Sarasvati and then she gets a substantial buff with her uuevo. Although I still think BOdin is generally a garbage sub, even after all his buffs.

      • Hi, just wanted to ask a related question here. I just pulled a Sumire (I have 2 now), so it seems like I could get that to start working. I have Gabe, Alrescha, and Christmas Paulina, but unfortunately that’s about it for subs I’d consider. Do you think it’s enough for a semi-legit sumire team? Thanks 😀

        • It really depends on what other options you have, but considering you’re asking I’m just going to assume you don’t have anything obviously better? I think that’s enough to have a fine team, but I’d feel a lot better about it if you had at least one more heartmaker.

I’ve been using this Urd team since the start of the game and at this point I’m kinda hitting a wall and really want to be developing my other teams more, primarily A. Luci. I was really just wondering if I should be rolling day 2, since both Akechi would be really nice to combo with Haku and Loki could also be an effective member of the team.

That being said I’m not sure how useful it’d really be outside of that. Freyr would be nice for my Urd team should I pull him, but most of the other featured gods feel pretty redundant. I’m wondering if it wouldn’t just be better to wait for something else, but if I do wait I’m not entirely sure what I’m looking for right now. I need A.Yomi to complete my dark Sakuya team, but rolling in Japanese 1 isn’t really that appealing just for the chance of pulling a Yomi.

Or maybe there’s something worth rolling for day 1 and I’m just missing it. Cao Cao, Liu Bei and DQXQ would be nice, but Egypt 2 lookin’ pretty weak on the streets right now (and I have two Set already).

    Thanks 🙂

    Like

    • I think the only real reason to roll day 1 is if you want Liu Bei for co-op or if DQXQ would be really for you. As you said, Egypt 2 is really bad and you already have 2 Sets, the only card really worth anything from there.

If you’re really serious about making a Lucifer team, then day 2 seems pretty good, especially since it’s also a dark gala. Already having Sanada and Maeda is a bit unfortunate. However, if you look at it another way, what kind of godfest would be better for you? It just feels like the the chances of getting something significantly better are low, and probably by that time it might be worth considering the PCGF or GFE REM anyways.

When you’re rolling, it’s good to think about how things can help you right now, but you also have to think how they might help you in the future. Having a diverse card pool is one of the best ways to futureproof your box.

I wouldn’t roll for Yomi only for dark Sakuya.

I started playing PAD without a clue what I was doing rolled on all sorts of things I probably shouldn’t have. I didn’t know about the re rolling for a good initial lead and played with something terrible I can’t remember for a couple months. Quit. Learned about re-rolling and started again with Karin. She was really not the easiest for a newbie and I stopped playing again. At some point in time I revisited my box and started playing more seriously with a Ronia team since I had rolled her at some point twice when I really didn’t know what I was doing. Then when I got stuck with her I looked into better teams to make with my box and worked towards my current Saria team.(no small thanks to your blog did I realize Saria was a good leader.) I started working towards a Bastet team at one point but gave up on her due to my terrible combo skills (which are much better but still not amazing now). I also received +50 Blue Sonia so I felt obligated to try out a blue team with her as lead. I guess I should be working toward an Astaroth or Sumire team? I have also thought about working on a Parvarti team or Pandora team. Really I am at a loss. I have a lot of different options in my box and no real idea what direction to go. I am not sure there is anything worth me rolling for this godfest but I am always open for advice!

Thanks from still mostly a newbie!

    • When making teams, yes, identifying which leader is best is important, but what really defines if a team is good are which subs you have available for it. You can say things like Astaroth or Pandora or whatever, but do you really have the subs for any of those teams? And even if you feel like you do, are there teams that are better in your box?

In my opinion, Saria is by far your best option, if only because you can field 4 competent subs for it where your other teams can’t. I’d definitely swap in DQXQ for Leonis as soon as you can. As for making new teams, is there really a need for it? If you invest heavily in your Saria team it should take you really far.

Neither day is outstanding for you, but there is some good value there — your only dupe is Sanada — and there are pieces to improve your dark teams, if that’s what you want to pursue, but there really isn’t anything to help you right now.

      • Thanks! I definitely know I was lacking in the subs department for Astaroth and Pandora. I guess I feel obligated to try new teams to keep the game fresh for me and try out different mechanics.

        Like

        • I think that’s a good way to go about things; my advice was really centered around being “efficient” rather than fun. One of PAD’s greatest strengths is the ability to advance through the game in a way that suits the player the best, so if your prerogative is to try out new teams, by all means do so.

Hi Setsu! I was wondering if you think I should pull on either day of the godfest?

I have about 55 stones, should have close to 60 by the end of godfest day 2 (I am clearing a lot of the descends that I previously couldn’t). Admittedly, the monsters that I really want are GFEs (Eschamali, another L Kali, D Kali, Zuoh). Day 2 is particularly tempting because of Loki coinciding with dark carnival.

For context, I am actively working on my A. Lucifer team. I find that I can clear a lot of content with him already especially when I coop. I have been able to clear more content with A. Ra (solo) probably because my Lucifer team has close to no skill ups, but I think my Lucifer team has more potential with only one Kali.

    Like

    • Yeah, you have a nice Luci team. I’d probably stick with him for a while. I’m not convinced if you should roll day 2, though. The dark gala is a nice bonus, but can’t be relied upon. You already have an Akechi and Zuoh is not at 3x. Loki would be nice and you have no Norse dupes, but it feels like you could do better, especially if you believe NA will get the GFE REM some time soon. It’s close, though, and if you’re hungry for improvements to your Luci team right now, I could see rolling being justified.

I stopped playing around rank 200 about 2 years ago and picked the game back up about 4,5 months ago. My box is a bit, hmm, shameful since most of my rolls where done back in the days. I must admit tho, that I was really good at rolling golems back in the days.

Anyway, I was playing with G/D Bastet lead before the break and tried A. Bastet when I picked it up again, but felt I lack the right sub. I happened to roll a second Pandora around that time so I started working toward A. Pandora team from there.

Right now the goal is to clear Arena 1, working toward A. Loki for the last slot to replace A. Anubis. Slowly progressing toward hypermax. Being non-IAP, I only have 100k MP so far, so MP leads are out of question for now. I need some help to find a direction in a long run.

    1. Base on the current meta, is Pandora the only endgame viable lead in my box? From my box, is there another endgame viable team that is missing one or two core cards but worth to work toward to? I have a few fire sub but felt fire lacks the utility for end game content, meanwhile I look at my L.Kali all by herself along with fat choco.

    2. Let’s say down the road, eventually there is a good godfest for my box, is it worth the investment to aim for Zuoh and replace Armored Batman?

    3. Would you mind giving me some advice regarding SI. I am working toward A. Haku but I felt lost when dealing with SI because there are just too many possible combinations. I felt I have too many green to dark changer, with only 1 board changer and one dark enhance. Let’s say I later form your regular Pandora arena team with Batman in lieu of Zuoh. How should I arrange SI appropriately? I plan to stick A. Haku onto D/D Pandora for an extra haste. Would A. Loki be a good candidate to SI from A. Anub for a jammer/posion fixer since Loki’s actively is not required majority of the time during the run. I love the haste on A. Pandora and Batman but should I SI a board changer for A. Pandora at least?

    4. Is it significant enough to justify aiming for a dupe Akeichi just for SI purpose?

    5. Does my box has any hope for green balance team, being non-IAP? At this point I am more or less praying for Robinhood and Nobunaga roll one day.

    Like

    • 1. Yeah, even without considering the meta, Pandora is your only real team. Fortunately, it’s really good! Unfortunately I don’t really see anything else in your box. As you accumulate rolls, they will tell you when you have another team.

      2. I don’t think I’d go out of your way to snag a Zuoh. There are situations where he’s better than Batman, but it’s not like he’s strictly better. I wouldn’t worry about not having him, but if you get him, options are obviously always good.

      3. I don’t think Pandora needs SI for Arena 1, especially since all your orb changers are good as is. Once you hypermax everything, Pandora should be tanky enough to the point where all your wood to dark orb changers shouldn’t matter too much. For Arena 2, I’d put a bind clear on your Anubis, but it doesn’t look you have one. You’d also probably want to put chibi Lilith on something to deal with the PreDRAs.

      4. As non-IAP, I wouldn’t.

      5. No. Considering you don’t even have a Verdandi yet, I think you’re very far.

      • Thank you very much for you input. At least now I can firm on working toward hypermax the only team I have and not worry about rolling at all lolz. Hold onto my stones and aim for a nobunaga eventually.

I have 136 stones, and am waiting for archangels to try to roll at least 1 Michael for my RCV-deprived Astaroth team. Day 1 has 3K and Light Carnival, and since I want ADQXQ without losing my *nearly* max skill DQ, a new one would be nice. Plus there’s 3x for Kaede, Sumire, and Kalis. I can’t pass all this up.

My question is, should I just roll a few times, or should I give up on my Astaroth team and focus on rolling as many light monsters as I can to get ideal MZeus and Miru teams in the future?

    Like

    • I think if you had a plan, you should stick to it. Waiting for the Archangels is also good for MZeus as having a Raphael is almost as close to a required sub as it gets on that team, which is saying a lot since MZeus is so flexible (you also need an Orochi, but that’s another story).

As for Miru, unfortunately most of her “ideal” subs are in the June Bride REM which isn’t a realistic option for a nearly non-IAP player. So I think trying to convince yourself to roll on day 1 for that reason also isn’t good. It looks like Saria, Wukong and DQXQ should be a good enough start, anyways.

Egypt 2 being really bad doesn’t help, either.

I guess my main focus right now is getting Pandora up and running while I steadily improve Blonia and Urd. I just Uvoed Pandora after I got the Aamir drop yesterday, so now I am actually starting to work on it. I’m not sure how far Blonia can go, but I know Pandora will be able to clear most content.I don’t have many stones (because I waste them on Collabs and box space), but I was thinking about using them on Day 2. I could make some use of most of Day 1, but I don’t think it would be as useful as Day 2. Akechi is vital to my eventual Pandora team and Sanada would be helpful for Urd to be more pimped out. I&I is also the most prominent thing missing from my Blonia team besides Blodin.

Should I go ahead and roll on Day 2 or wait for another Godfest that has a better combination of pantheons?

    • Your Pandora team is not very good, with the only great sub being Zuoh. The other subs you have listed on your teams page can fill niche roles, but all three are not something you want to start at once. If you’re serious about improving your dark box, then I think it should be safe to roll day 2. Your only dupe risk is Loki (who is bad as a dupe, but isn’t nearly as poor as he might seem) so you’d still be getting good value and maybe you can snag something nice from the dark gala. I think it’s completely reasonable to roll.

Your water box seems a lot better than your dark. BSonia is a fine lead, but I’d also consider Lakshmi and Sumire, especially since you have 3x Andromeda to work with. BOdin is trash so I wouldn’t worry about running him. I’d probably run another Andromeda over Lakshmi on your BSonia team.

Status: I am trying to enjoy PAD as much as I can and trying different leads is usually providing just that. I am able to farm legendary and mythical descends with no probles. I can do Legendary+ dungeon most of the time. Unable to do stuff like Zaerog 8 consistently (managed to beat him once though)

First I would like to apologize that my question is not directly tied to this current godfest as I don’t intend to pull this time. Only have 13 stones, so it wouldn’t make much difference either. If you, Setsu, don’t mind answering a different question, please read onward.

Even though I am non-IAP, I have somehow managed to gather 300k MP after I sold a lot my bad pulls throughout the year and half I have played PAD. Now I would like to aim at beating Arena 1 and I am not sure what MP card should I go for. I feel like I have ok teams for Ra Dragon and Xiang Mei which I think are both solid choices for beating Arena 1. I feel like XM team allows for more errors, so I am leaning a bit more toward that team. On the other hand, getting a functional Ra Dragon team would be much less work for me as I have some of the cards for such team already hypermaxed. I would be glad if you let me know what would be your suggestion as to what MP card should I go for. If you spot some other potential team in my box that could serve the same purpose, I’d be glad to hear about that too.

    Thanks and keep on puzzling,

    • I am no expert, but it looks like you XM team is better than your potential RaDra team. After getting XM you would have something like XM/Gadius/Uriel/Yamato/(Cao Cao, Mitsuki, Belial, Yamato,Uriel), which isn’t ideal because you probably want another XM there, but its alright. Your RaDra team would be something like RaDra/DKali/Kanna/Isis/DIza, which is also not ideal because you want Indra over DIza. Either team can work, but I think the XM is more forgiving and your subs are a little bit better for it.

      Like

    • No problem, this thread is for all questions in general, it just so happens godfests are a good time to host them for various reasons.

Seeing as you have good teams for both leads, the decision isn’t obvious. Either team can stomp Arena 1. Either team can farm it; XM might require a bit less thought, but at the same time Ra Dragon is more engaging. I think this choice comes down to preference and seeing as you seem to prefer XM, I’d probably go with her. I’m not sure there’s any appreciable difference either way, but in cases like this I tend to lead toward the newer card.

However, is either the correct decision? PAD is in a complicated time right now, with the best teams seemingly in constant flux. Ra Dragon, XM, Kaede, Gremory… who knows when the baton of “best lead” will change next? This is why I’ve been such a fan of suggesting people consider Miru teams which has the bonus of being farmable and not costing any MP. With 2x DQXQ, Wukong, Apoc, and Saria, you may not have the fancy June Bride options, but these are more than good enough and you also have some nice utility and SI options.

    • If you want the heart break, then Pollux is probably better than LValk, and Athena is probably better than LValk for green Coverage (Uuvo Sakuya is probably your best bet for that though). Your flex slot could also be either AHorus for Dark Coverage and SBR, Ariel for dmg, Fat Chocobo for the board change (which might be the most important).

      Like

    • 1) I think you’re on the right track. I think that team is about as good as you can do with what you have. For the last slot you can either ignore dark and run Pollux or run a farmable. Defoud is probably the best option, but if you’re looking for more time extends there are worse things than Sonia Gran. If you choose to ignore dark, I’d also consider running Verche or Elia as heartbreakers can’t interact with LKali’s board change.

      2) Yeah, I think you’re off to a great start for Miru. DQXQ, Apoc and Saria are all solid subs and for the last slot you can run a farmable like Angelion or Lemon Dragon until you get something better.

  17. Something teels me that awoken cao cao just won’t be on par with awoken liu bei.
Sure a.Cao Cao does have options in Surtr and Goemon, but I don’t think there are enough skill boosts across both teams to validate running them.
So here’s the question: how is he useful now? he lost god typing for shivadrag, lost tpas for shiva. Is he good enough as a lead for farming, or is he just relegated to skill inheritance? thoughts?

    Like

    • Yeah, I really don’t like him, but maybe he’s underrated like his uevos were when everyone misjudged him because, amusingly, they were comparing him to Liu Bei. Fire is just in a terrible place right now (seems not so long ago it seems the positions were switched… how quickly things change) and Cao Cao does little to alleviate that. I feel like his only real relevance as a sub depends on what sort of upgrades Raoh gets when FotNS comes around again (assuming he gets anything in the first place). To be honest, I think his uevos will see more use in the short term (r/d and his dragon killer are used as an SI base on sudr teams, I think). As a leader, there’s always farming potential, but I like to look at how active-reliant leader skills like Horus and Ichigo failed hard and I don’t think Cao Cao, or Liu Bei for that matter, will be exceptions with their current sub pools.

As for Dios vs Goemon/Surtr, sure, the skill boosts are extremely important, but you also can’t overlook his multi boosts and how much damage they add.

      • Doesn’t Fire seem sort of deja vu in comparison to Green?
We all know what happened to green after Bastet was released, and now Xiang Mei has influenced the game way more than Bastet ever has. If we have to wait for Xiang Mei to get bumped off the tier list just to see another meta fire lead, I’m glad my fire box is as weak as it is 😀

        • Uuevo Krishna, if he’s anything like Sarasvati, should really help fire recover from its recent downturn. If he’s anything like Sarasvati, no, he won’t be an elite endgame lead, but right now fire just needs an actual leader to, you know, lead. XM is fine, but the team can’t utilize all the great subs fire has to offer. After her, the lead possibilities fall off to what? Raoh? Shiva Dragon? Shiva? Fire’s perennially the color of farming — this is the one thing it has over wood during its downturn — so I don’t think it’ll ever be regarded as an endgame powerhouse, but it definitely needs more options.

    • Personally, I’d probably switch your long term goal to Awoken AD Lucifer as he has the best sub pool out of your current possible leads. Haku, Anubis, Okuni, and Castor are all plausible subs and farmables like Vampire and CDD can fill in holes.

However, I guess the real question is with which team do you acquire the evo materials for him? Luckily, Zeus is not that hard. Neither is Satan. So I might just switch to Shiva or DQXQ immediately and clear those dungeons with them.

Hey Setsu. Hope this squeaks in before the cutoff! Been meaning to leave a question since the PCGF, but I always seem to miss the godfest help posts until the morning after when I have work.

Anyway, my starting Lumiel team has reached its limits and I’m currently looking to build a team out of all the rolls I got from the PCGF (and a few easy descends). This is coincidentally the first time I’ve actually had a choice beyond “it fits the typing, so I guess I use it,” so this is the first team I’ve actually “built” and I more or less want someone to check my math. I was planning on making an R Valk team so that I could more reliably take on descends, and then once I got the right drops to evolve them, swap over to an Awoken DQXQ or Amaterasu team. The team I was planning on using was R Valk/Gadius/Raphael/Wukong/L/R Ares. I had trouble deciding on the last member, but I went for Ares to try and make the team a little bit tankier.

Today, however, kind of blew that plan out of the water, because I rolled both a L Kali and a L Meta. I haven’t done much research on them, but their reputation precedes them and my understanding is that they’re probably better leaders (that, as a bonus, don’t require descend drops to max). R Valk has a better multiplier than L Meta, but it also requires a fire row, and L Kali has a better multiplier.

So should I be switching to building a team around one/both of them or stick to the plan? Is the right answer to just eventually build all of them? Do I even have the subs for Kali or Meta? Was I even building the right team before I got those drops? I’ve been eager to know.

    Like

    • It’s also probably worth noting the L Valk I very recently picked up. It probably has better synergy with subs like Raphael, but I don’t feel like I necessarily have the subs for a monocolor version of the R Valk team.

      Like

      • I think you might have a pretty good Tsubaki team. You can use Tsubaki/RValk/Ares/Gadius/(Belial or Minerva or Tsubaki). I think A.DQXQ is a stronger lead than LKali, if a little harder to use. You can use something like ADQXQ/LKali/(Alcyone, Sun WuKong, LMeta, Chocobo)/ALoki/Athena. Your LKali team would be similar to the ADQXQ one, but you just replace LKali and Athena with Light Subs.

        Like

    • I’m not sure where you got your information on LKali and LMeta, but it sounds like it’s about a year and a half outdated 🙂 LKali recently got a buff to make her more respectable, but is still inferior to DQXQ.

For DQXQ, I’d just try to run as many orb changers as possible, swapping in utility where necessary. Perhaps the only exception to this would be Raphael for his rows and utility, but you probably need to max skill him before he becomes a regular sub. The rest of the roster can be filled with some mix of Wukong, Alcyone, LKali, and whatever farmable orb changers you need to fill holes. LValk is a great start.

    • You really don’t have any coherent teams, so I think just advancing with what you feel most comfortable is best. In the short term, I might go with your mini RSonia team, running Pandora and whatever farmable subs you can muster like Vampire, CDD and Baddie. The tanky nature of RSonia might make things easier for you until you get better subs, but if you feel like Bastet is working for you then you can continue with that. Pandora and DMeta are probably best overall leaders, but until you get some higher quality orb changers you really can’t run them effectively.

I’d just do the best with what you have and gradually try to accumulate value for you box. It doesn’t really matter what the cards are, just as long as they improve your box quality. A team will eventually materialize once you get enough good cards. I’m particularly fond of the Chinese and Heroes as they can form the core for a myriad of teams. You also have a leg up on a rainbow team with DKali. Day 2 of this godfest isn’t terrible for value; normally I wouldn’t necessarily recommend rolling in it, but since you have so few things to work with currently I’d encourage you to try your luck.
