Disclaimer: The aggregate list is basically a compilation of the leader tier lists from three JP PAD sites: Game8, GameWith and AppMedia. The idea is that while a single tier list can have many points of contention, hopefully an aggregate can kind of smooth things over (it doesn’t, really, but it helps a bit). I try to keep my hands off the results as much as possible; the extent of my involvement is setting the algorithm to aggregate the results. I wish I could be fully hands off, but as none of the lists have 1:1 correlation in their grades, I have to have that much involvement. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.

Kinda strapped for time, so the comments will be short, once again.

JP Aggregate Leader List Changes of Note

Card Notes
2901 - Awoken Cao Cao
Change: Removed from ❀

Totally didn’t see this one coming… ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

New Card Holding Tank

New cards will be held here temporarily in an attempt to isolate the aggregate list from knee-jerk ratings.
Card Notes
3090 - Chaotic Black Dragonbound Armor, Ana
Ranked Sites: Game8 (S), Game8 Co-op (S)

Her buff to include balanced types on top of dragons makes her quite powerful, allowing her to utilize Xin Hua on top of powerful dragons like Yomi Dragon. YamaP hinting that more dark balanced types will be released is also promising. Even if there weren’t, the pending Akechi sub uuevo will still be amazing even if he doesn’t qualify for the full bonus. She doesn’t have the burst potential of Gremory, but those that already have Typhon will feel less pressure to roll yet another 6-star to get in on the heart-cross action in dark.

2997 - 宝冠の聖魔王・Paimon
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A)

This shouldn’t be a surprise. Even if matching multiple crosses isn’t the easiest thing to do, her top-end potential can’t be denied. For Game8, I think this is a pretty fair placement for a brand new card and I’m curious where the other lists will put her. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to research her, but I’ll try to do that in the coming week.

  1. Do you still think that Sumire is underrated? I rolled a full Sumire system while completely failing to get a dupe Kaede, and I don’t know whether Kaede with every relevant sub except herself or Sumire with a system will be better for arena 3, which is my current goal.

    • That’s hard to say as I’m not really familiar with Arena 3. From what I can gather, the only significant difference from A2 are the Radar Dragons; obviously, perhaps, but that floor is what skews your team building the most. In order to survive most of the Radars, you’ll need the heart-cross shield up every turn, so I’d say running a team with a system would be more consistent than one without. However, if what you mean by “full Sumire system” is 6x Sumire, then you might want to reconsider running a couple different subs for more damage.

  2. Hi Setsu, what are Kaede’s options for the 4th and 5th slot? I know one must be a bind clear so Odindra kind of fits that bill. I’ve seen many different subs for the last slot: Vishnu, Verdandi, Parvati, DCC Athena.

    • I’d strongly consider Wee Jas. He’s still the same super-utility he used to be, but now he also has some killer awakenings to contribute more damage. His lack of stats won’t hurt as much if you can consistently make heart-crosses.

Outside that, I think you covered all the major ones. But what it really comes down to will be your matchup against the particular dungeon you’re going against.

    • Anima looks to be pretty amazing. However, it’s difficult for me gauge whether a co-op lead will actually be that good because there are quite a few different factors that come into play when it comes to endgame co-op speed farming. Just from a raw power perspective, though, it would be hard to believe that he wouldn’t make a fairly big splash.

  3. What are some farmable and rem Sumire subs? I rolled one in the ongoing godfest. And is Myr/Miru really better, or is Myr/Miru just more popular?

    Like

    • You can get some sub ideas by looking at the individual team pages by clicking Sumire’s icon on each’s sites individual list. Generally anything that makes both water and heart orbs should work.

Myr is generally better since she can do more damage with minimal amounts of orbs. The thought is that Sumire needs 5 hearts + 5 water to activate, but can’t benefit from any awakenings except OEs. Where Myr can do 5 + 4 or 5 + 6 and on top of OEs get bonuses from TPAs and rows. So in general, Myr’s 49x does more effective damage than Sumire’s 56.25x with a minimal amount of orbs. Then on top of that Myr is also bind immune. I do think Sumire is closer to Myr than most people think, though.

  4. I’m used to running a rainbow lead and am having trouble making a heart cross with Kaede and also fitting in wood matches within the time limit How can i make a heart cross faster?

    • Sorry, you’re asking the wrong person about how to improve your puzzling. I’d suggest watching videos and seeing how better players set up the board. Then try emulating those things in a practice app (so you have infinite time to move and just get used to the way you have to manipulate the orbs). Hopefully someone will release a video on it since it’s become a huge part of the game. Also, time extends are a high priority for a reason.

However, I can say that setting up your crosses with basic cascades is key to fitting in all the combos you want onto a single board. Here are a couple quick ways to think about setting it up:
      http://pad.dawnglare.com/?s=rXN86j1
      http://pad.dawnglare.com/?s=FbGUKX1

The idea is to move your hearts next to a match of orbs, then inject one of the “arms” of the cross in between those orbs to set up the cascade. There are, of course, much more intricate cascades to set up, but that’s the basic kind that helped me the most so far.

  5. Would Kaede still be considered a tier above pretty much every other lead even with 1 Kaede in the team? I tried out that template gamewith team wth 1 Kaede but it’s feeling really underwhelming.

    • I don’t know why people even ask this. The tier lists are made with optimal teams in mind, so of course the team is going to underperform when you don’t have good subs. Without any information on your subs or other teams, how can I even begin to give advice? For all I know you could be running 4x Zeals.

      Like

        • Yes, my bad.

My point still stands, there’s no point in comparing “optimal” and “suboptimal” teams of different teams as they relate in a tier list. As stated in the disclaimer of these posts, the tier lists are just a starting point; if you want actual useful information, you’re still going to have to think for yourself. If you don’t like the team, then so be it, it doesn’t matter what a tier list says.

And on a tangent, template teams are usually trash. A good place to start, but trash. So if you think the team has a weakness, try a different sub that might shore it up. If you don’t have it or it still sucks, then that’s just the way it is.

        • Vishnu and Michael are especially underwhelming subs as I’ve felt, since Michael doesn’t have relevant awakenings and Vishnu doesn’t produce hearts. What else do you have? Parvati? Sylvie?

          Like

          • Vishnu feels really good in the team since all his awakenings are amazing and I found myself needing green orbs more than hearts most of the time. Also 6 turns pretty low for a SI base so he can always take a utility skill.

As for subs I pretty much have all the important green subs outside of collab ones, Susano, Ishida and Sylvie.

  6. Any more thoughts on Typhon? My main account has been a series of rainbow leads that I find difficult and frustrating to use. My alt account has been all Typhon (non-IAP) from the start. I luv this card and enjoy it more than any other lead I’ve tried. i clear the same content with it. Maybe the style just fits me, but I also find it much easier and more powerful.

The additional HP modifier was huge, the upcoming cross mechanic could be just as big. I guess it depends on how much I enjoy making a cross of hearts vs. a row. Also, if making multiple dark rows for burst is still viable.

    • A fine leader that was never good enough to make any tier list. At least not until we get Ana Typhon. If you like the lead and can hit your goals with it that’s all that matters.

  7. Do you think it’s possible to run Miru legend plus with an AShiva team? Not farming for skillups, but jest enough to beat it? If not, would co-op AShiva be able to do it?
