This is a help thread, so please feel free to ask questions on just about anything concerning the godfest or your teams, box and progress in general.

Despite GFEs being at 4x rates, this godfest is all-around pretty bad which is only compounded by JP Dragoncallers only being featured on day 2.

Please read the rules before posting, especially if this is your first time:

  • I will only take box questions that supply a PADherder. It makes it much, much easier for me to give good advice this way (you could say I can’t give good advice without the sorting options). Try PadListener to sync if you’re on Android (if it works for you), otherwise use this method.
  • Box/roll questions that don’t supply rank, IAP status and main teams will be ignored. Any other information you want to supply will only help.
  • Please check the FAQ after the break before asking a question. Questions that aren’t covered by the FAQ will be prioritized; questions that don’t may be ignored.
  • WordPress flags comments with multiple links. I still get the comment, I just have to approve it manually for it to show up on the site. So if your comment doesn’t show up, this might be the case. Ideally, only post a single link to your PADherder.
  • I generally reply on a first come, first serve basis, but if there’s a low hanging fruit I’ll address that first.
  • I will post thread status as bold red comments. Make sure you read these comments before posting to make sure you aren’t violating the rules. I’m no longer segregating comments by day, instead I’ll indicate how many questions I be able to take for a given thread in the first status comment, then stop taking new ones after that.
  • No new questions will be taken after the godfest ends. Questions asked in other posts may be ignored; please wait for the next godfest!
  • Follow-ups to existing questions will be taken as long as the post is still open for comments.
  • I’ll close the post for comments a few hours after the godfest ends.
  • Any comments breaking the rules will be removed without warning.

FAQ

This is FAQ is a work in progress.

  • I’m rank 200 or lower and low- or non-IAP, should I roll for X god? – In general, no. Even if the RNG gods blessed you and you just need that one god to perfect your team, early on you should be focusing on accumulating stones and waiting for a high-value godfest. You want to accumulate value to increase the overall quality of your box so you have more team options in the future; not only is the meta always shifting, but there’s no single team in the game that can clear all content. The Player’s Choice Godfest is generally the best value early on, but normal godfests can be plenty good nowadays depending on the combination. Pantheons that have a wide variety of uses like the Heroes, Chinese and Three Kingdoms are great. Minimizing dupe chances should also be a high priority. Also, don’t underestimate the effect the current gala can have on your rolls and be sure to factor in the GFEs that are omitted or have reduced chance (i.e. you want to maximize your chances to roll DKali).
  • Which MP Dragon should I buy? – This image isn’t perfect, but sums it up nicely. Credit for the image goes to fether from the subreddit. If there’s ever an updated version, please point me toward it.
  • Why is X monster rated higher than Y monster? – The monster ratings aren’t there to be an accurate, authoritative resource on a card’s power, but are more used as a ballpark estimate to give a relative idea of how useful a given card or pantheon is which is used to help evaluate godfests.
  • Why is the overall rating not an average of the lead and sub ratings? – Long story short, when grades are given using the normal distribution, cards that are both good as leaders and subs get a boost while ones that are bad as both get penalized. This is because most cards in the game are usually only good at one role, not both.

Grading scale. Ratings are weighed in favor of endgame viability. Ratings try to take the latest JP updates into consideration. The overall grade is not an average and is based on the normal distribution of the combined lead and sub ratings.

The quality  of the Japanese 2 awoken uevos varied widely, but are overall solid. Sadly, solid doesn’t really cut it these days so outside Izanagi, the pantheon won’t be competitive in today’s endgame. Uzume in particular is embarrassing for an awoken. Note that since Kushinadahime hasn’t been released on JP yet, I haven’t updated her ratings.

The Indian 2 uuevos so far have been a pleasant surprise, mainly because not much is expected from uuevos as leaders. Sarasvati and Durga are very respectable leads and I fully expect Krishna and Vishnu to follow suit. I’m particularly interested in Krishna as some new awakenings will propel him into “decent sub” status instead of basically useless, much like what already happened with Sarasvati. Vishnu is still relevant in his current form; I don’t expect much more from him as a sub, but it should be interesting to see what they do with his leader skill. With him getting a rank EXP buff added to his leader skill, Ganesha is no longer totally useless. Durga is also a pretty solid lead; before the heart-cross power leap, 1/56.25/2.25 would’ve been quite good and she’ll still be able to take most players very far.

JP Dragoncallers, Kalis, Ilm and Zuoh are at 1x rates. The JP Callers being at 1x makes this day even less exciting.

Overall, this is a fairly poor godfest day. While all the featured gods have become much more desirable due to recent buffs — or ones expected to come soon — the fact remains that they’re over shadowed by very similar, but better cards. Such as Sarasvati with You Yu and Izanagi with Myr. Ganesha (who hasn’t been released on JP yet) is the most unique effect of the bunch, but is probably the least appealing to most players.

Egypt 1 will always be solid leaders, but outside Isis — and maybe Ra for his true damage — none of them are highly sought after. Their value increases if we get the PAD Cross collabs, Horus becoming a better sub and Bastet becoming a better lead.

The Constellation 1 cards are in an awkward position, being heartbreakers in a heart meta. While this prevents them from being great subs on most of the best endgame teams, their great selection of awakenings paired with a hasty orb change has them well positioned should new, non-heart-based leads should push the meta (see Kinnikuman for what could possibly be the new wave of leader skills).

Metatrons, Dragonbounds and Sonias are at 1x rates, meaning most of the good GFEs are in the 4x pool. This is the only day with JP Callers at 4x rates, which is nice because this was the best day anyways.

Wow, this godfest might as well just be two days like normal. There’s little hope for the Greco-Romans until GungHo demonstrates a new path for pantheon progression. They’ve gotten small upgrades here and there, but nothing outside an overhaul will make them relevant. Ceres will see new life with her PAD Cross uevo and Venus, who’s always been the best of the bunch, remains a solid skill inheritance base.

The Angels aren’t nearly as bad, but that’s not going to get anyone excited enough to roll for them. Rozuel has found a nice niche on Ronove teams and so has Ariel on TPA-based Myr teams, but the rest will remain poor until their inevitable uuevos. Considering they got their uevos at the beginning of the year, I wouldn’t necessarily expect that to occur until next year.

JP Dragoncallers, Fenrir and Odins are at 1x rates. The JP Callers being at 1x is only rubbing salt in the wound.

  1. As this is a mid-week godfest, I’ll have less time to answer questions due to work. It also doesn’t help that GungHo waits until the last minute to announce godfests. I’ll try to get to about 15 questions then end the thread.

  2. Hello,
I really enjoy your posts and find them very helpful. I was wondering if I could get some advice or insight on my box and see if it would be worth rolling in the upcoming godfests.

IAP status: I am a non IAP player, however, I have saved up a good amount of stones (a bit over 50) so I’m wondering if I should use them now or save for a future godfest.

Teams: I am mainly using an Awoken Sakuya team and an L Kali team, but I’m looking into building a roots or ronove team (when i get the necessary pieces).

Thank you for your time and help!

    • This godfest is pretty bad for everyone (this will likely become something I repeat often today). For the teams you mentioned — Sakuya, LKali, Roots, Ronove — none of the days help you. Maybe Rozuel for Ronove, but she’s far, far, far from worth rolling for specifically, especially on that horrendous day.

Outside what could help your teams immediately, day 2 is the best day, but you unfortunately risk two dupes with the Constellation 1s. Dupes of these aren’t the absolute worst thing anymore, but for a box like yours you want to expand your capabilities, not get redundancy in an area you don’t really need it.

So that leaves the 4x GFE rates. If you were to roll any day, it should be day 2 since it has the JP Dragon Callers at boosted rates (although more Satsukis would be unfortunate). There’s some consideration rolling this day to get the MP you need to purchase a Ragnarok Dragon who’d fit right in on any of your four teams. It’s really hard to recommend doing this, though, and seeing as 4x or higher GFE rates are becoming the norm, it’s safe to wait for a better opportunity. Maybe if you’re on the cusp of hitting 300k I might do it (like 250k-275k) just because he’s so good for you.

I’d personally keep sitting on your stones. You can do a lot better with them. There’s some amount of sense in rolling for MP for Ragnarok Dragon, but it’s really hard for me to recommend that for a non-IAP player.

Right now I am working on skilling and Evoing Zues-Dios and Evoing Machine Zues for co-op farm teams. I’m also working on an ADQXQ and rainbow team. I feel like only day 2 is useful for me since it has the relevant godfest monsters and the Mechanical Star Gods are at least decent subs. But even then it might not be worth it, since I don’t think any of the featured gods are necessary for any of my main teams.

Do you think any day is worth rolling in or should I just wait for another godfest? Is there anything I should be farming or working towards getting besides what I’m already doing.

    • Considering you already have Isis and Ra, day 2 really isn’t that great for you. I’d definitely pass.

I like that you’re getting some co-op farming teams ready. I’d definitely focus on that is it will open the door to farming MP. The MP grind can be rough, especially if you don’t have ideal teams, but it’s worth it in the end.

I already know I want to roll on day 2. It seems to make the most sense for what I have. That’s also the day Egypt 1 happens. If I roll Isis then I’ll have all the components to make a really good Radra team. But lately you’ve been saying that he’s falling off the meta, especially with heart crosses being the new big thing.

I struggle to clear rogues solo, and I can’t find people who want to co-op with the leads I have. And I’m honestly sick in general of struggling to find players who consistently use the leaders I’m looking for. So what I’m asking is, if I roll Isis, should I make the investment? Or should I keep focusing on other things?

Once again, thanks for all your help. You’re the best!

    • I don’t like Ra Dragon going forward. he’s too far under the curve right now to be a good investment going forward, especially if the Kinnikuman cards are a portent of what’s to come. There’s always a chance the entire series could get buffs, but I wouldn’t bank on it.

I can understand the frustration with co-op. I do think Cao Cao is a great option, though. He’s underrated and underplayed because he has no Dios equivalent and Liu Bei took all the hype, but he’s just as capable of farming endgame content, if not more so. He just takes a little more effort from a team building perspective, but the reward is that he’s more time efficient than Liu Bei in many cases.

I’d strongly consider making a Myr team. Considering you already have Wukong, DQXQ and Saria hypered, there’s very little investment to be made beyond the skill ups. Maybe with a little luck you can roll a Ronove, too.

I’m not sure if I should roll this godfest and what my best potential team is. I have Xiang Meis because my friend trolled me and bought 3 when I was saving up, but I don’t have the XP yet to make the teams. Any advice what I should be maining? I can clear Arena 1 really consistently with RaDrag rn

    Like

    • Xiang Mei is definitely unfortunate. I think I’ve used the team twice, once to clear Arena 2 for the first time, and I don’t really see myself ever using her as a lead again. What a great investment…

I don’t see a problem with continuing to use Ra Dragon. If you want to graduate to the heart-cross meta, you have the pieces to make a good Myr team or you can just wait for Awoken Izanagi if you don’t to go through the trouble of farming skill ups. As for other solo/endgame teams, I don’t really see anything. I’d strongly consider investing in Cao Cao and/or MZeus for co-op farming, though.

          • I’d start with the tried and true core of DQXQ and Wukong. I’d probably run 2x Wukong over 2x DQXQ because I think Wukong’s TPA is pretty valuable on the team. You can then use your dupe DQXQ as an inherit. For the last sub slot, since you don’t have a Saria or Apoc you’re going to have to get a little creative. I actually really like Moogle. He doesn’t contribute damage, but gives you an active that will allow you to form crosses more consistently. If you’re looking for something a little less janky, you could run Venus with some type of inherit or run some type of orb changer like Elia or Verche (although you could eventually run into the problem of dark orb fatigue since DQXQ and Wukong both rely on them).

            Like

      • Ronove is a tricky lead to start with. His subs are rare and/or expensive and his farmable ones require an existing team to farm. I don’t actually know the best way to progress with him on a fresh account.

However, since your account is still in its infancy, I can say one thing for sure: you should roll this godfest. If anything, you just need to start improving your box even if what you roll doesn’t immediately help your Ronove team. So I’d probably roll day 2 and see what it gives you. This is also a decent timing to roll as you’ll then have about two months to save up stones for the eventual PCGF in November.

        Liked by 1 person

    • Not sure what your Myr team is, but if you have decent subs for her the answer is most likely yes.

I’d probably do one each of Xin Hua and Yomi Dragon. It’s usually better to diversify than be redundant; while 2x Xin Hua is probably better for that team specifically, I can’t recommend tying up too many resources in multiple copies of a single card (case and point: Xiang Mei).

        • I think you have every possible relevant Myr sub besides Wu Kong. Myr isn’t a great sub for herself, but you could honestly run just about any random light monster from your box and the team works. You can even run heart breakers and just combo them with Myr-active. I think you are better off with ADQXQ/Saria/(ADQXQ/Saria)/Flex where Flex can be Yellow Fruit Dragon, Ariel, Awoken Indra, Awoken Apollo, Raph, Kanna, Sakuya, AAma, Elia. You can always inherit Fuu or Cinderella for extra heart makers.

IAP: I’ll drop 20 bucks on this Godfest if it seems like an alright idea
Main teams: Luci, just got Summyr and working on Liu Bei & Goemon

Basically I really want a Ra for Liu Bei. Just got him a little bit ago and right now I’m cobbling together Goemon buttoning teams for STTD and Dios, but from what I see Ra is extremely important in a lot of Liu Bei farm setups. I’d also be down for a Sumire for Summyr, but I guess I’m not sure if those two things alone would make it worth it, since I’m pretty sure nothing else would be especially useful to me besides GFEs to increase box options in general.

I guess I’m having a bit of trouble deciding on what I should be shooting for in general right now. Push buttoning is totally new to me so I’m not sure just how prudent it would be to pour my resources into buttoning teams and aim for something like Ra versus saving stones (and money) for maybe Heroes for another Andromeda or something.

TL;DR is it worth trying almost just for Ra for buttoning? And while it’s kinda unrelated, what should I be aiming to button first? I assume making a Dios buttoning team is a natural first choice, but what after that?

Thanks for all your help with stuff as always Setsu!

    Like

    • There’s no easy answer. Speedfarming and buttoning are luxuries afforded to the rich and/or lucky. What you have to ask yourself is a) how much you want it and b) whether it’s actually that important to you. Like, are you really going to be farming enough to make the investment worthwhile? Do you really need to be “optimal” while farming? In many cases, buttoning can just be replaced by matching, which is slower and takes more effort, but is it really worth mortgaging your PAD future and/or spending money on to avoid?

While Ra is certainly important, there are ways to work around not having one. Namely, if we get the Kenshin collab soon, there are two good alternatives: Kamatari, a silver, and Anji, a farmable. Kamatari can’t replace Ra for pure button purposes, but is sufficient for dealing with PreDRAs and such and can be inherited. Anji also has many uses even if he can’t be inherited. Even outside that, there are farmable options like Swallowtail and Jormungandr.

As for what you should make a team for, I’m a strong advocate of Zaerog. He just gives the best rewards for the investment. It’s also easy to find partners to run it with, too, which is probably the biggest plus. I’d just try to make a stable team for that, then expand from there.

All of your advice has been spot-on so far, so thank you! I can now clear most descends reliably, especially since I started using Pandora (there are a few that are difficult with dark absorbs). I would like to know how to progress in the game to doing Rogue dungeons and eventually Arena.

I finally have enough MP for a card, and would like to know which one, if any, I should invest in. I would also like some guidance as to other teams I could start building to clear Z8, Linthia, and the Rogues – my box has Ronove, Sumire, and Sherias Roots as top-tier leads, but not sure I have the cards for a team with any of them.

Is it worth rolling in Day 2 for MP and potential GFEs or should I skip?

    Like

    • For rogues, there’s a difference between just clearing them and farming them. I’m just going to assume you mean clearing them. If you want to farm, you’d be better off in investing in Cao Cao or MZeus (or Liu Bei should you ever get him).

For your MP card, I’d definitely recommend Ragnarok Dragon. Just one of the best overall subs in the game right now, he’s and ideal sub for both Ronove and Roots (and MAthena). As for Ronove vs. Roots, I’d lean towards Ronove, mainly because you can farm Linthia and Gainaut and basically have a complete team. You can start with like Ragnarok Dragon / Linthia / Gainaut / Sakuya or whatever to cover water and that team should get your pretty far. Since there’s overlap with Roots, you can basically work on both teams at the same time.

I don’t think you need to roll, but the allure of Kaede is strong. It’s probably better to hope we get 5x again sometime soon (maybe we’ll get 5x again when the next set of GFE demons are introduced?).

Does having Gremory change the recommendation at all? I would build the Ronove team you described, but not sure what team I have that could clear Linthia and Gainaut…

        Like

        • Gremory does change things. I think she’s inferior to Ronove and Myr, but most of that is due to teambuilding constraints. She does have an advantage in not having to worry about binds at all, though.

Instead of Ragnarok Dragon you could buy Xin Hua then run Xin Hua / Pandora / Pandora / Akechi. I’d put some preference on having one uuevo Pandora for the extra time extend, but 2x Awoken Pandora is very powerful for the haste synergy. You’d then have a team that could take on all of the endgame.

Non-IAP, but I haven’t touched Team Challenges for Technicals and am only half-way through Team Challenges for Normal. Additionally I have only scratched the surface of Descends and Challenges – so grinding out some more stones before another big Godfest is feasible. I presently have 35 stones.

My main teams right now are a Verdandi mono-green team, and a Thoria mono-light team. I am starting to work on a Sumire blue team (I have 2x Sumire), but that’s a solid month or more away from being really ready. I don’t know what to do with my red or dark rosters. I have 3x Tsubaki, so that would make sense to develop, and Typhon seems promising for Dark (I feel I have several solid dark pieces but it doesn’t fully come together). Beyond what I’m doing now, I may branch out into variations on mono-green by Awakening my Parvati, looking into what to do with my Jade Sonia – or perhaps lucking into a Kaede in a Godfest (Bastet might be another interesting option). For my light team, I could aim to transition to Myr team’s as a target (need a lot more pieces – ie DXQX and Wukong – not to mention Myr).

The main pantheon’s I have identified as a priority are the Heroes Series (any and all would be great – I presently have none), and the Three Kingdoms (Cao Cao, or a second Liu Bei – either to wade into co-op, DXQX, even a second Sun Quan would be appreciated). After that Egyptian 1 seems like the next best, as I have none of them and my combo skills are fairly weak (4-5 if I really pay attention) – perhaps picking up an Egyptian one lead would help with that (incentive to practice). Needless to say many of the featured GFE’s would be a boon.

Any help is much appreciated, and keep up the great work!

    • If you want a combo lead, I’d just wait for Awoken Okuni to hit NA. Sure, that’s another two months or so out, but it’s probably better just to wait for that than roll for Egypt 1 leaders that are largely irrelevant. This would also allow you to leverage of one of your most powerful subs in Eschamali. So, no, I wouldn’t roll.

Of the leads you listed (Sumire, Typhon, Parvati, Myr), I don’t like any of them, but I guess Sumire is reasonable. You just need more pieces before even thinking about them, especially when you have a perfectly fine team in Saria-Thor. I agree that Heroes is the best pantheon for you (it usually is for most players). I’d agree that Three Kingdoms is good for you, but I’d prioritize expanding your roster rather than getting redundant pieces. If the desire to get another Liu Bei is borne from wanting to keep another one for use on Verdandi, I’d probably just scrap your Verdandi team instead as Liu Bei co-op is much better for farming and Saria-Thor should be sufficient for most solo needs. Speaking of your Saria-Thor team, I’d definitely look into finishing your Fuma Kotaro.

      • Thanks very much for taking the time to reply! I love Thoria, so I’m glad to hear it. You nailed it on my thinking with Liu Bei, I’ll look into making that transition w/o dupes (RIP Verdandi team, *sniff*). Your advice on Fuma Kutaro was eerily prescient (see in a moment), but he was already high priority for me. Any particular Sumire team pieces I should keep an eye out for? I’m guessing Andromeda is the obvious call here. Anyhow I bought the beginner stones pack w/ free roll and PAL points (so I guess I am no longer technically IAP, but that’s it for me), so I split the difference between your sage advice and my impulsive desire to roll, and did 5 rolls – saving the rest to rebuild for Heroes or Players’ Choice. I pulled:

        1x Saria dupe
        2x L. Kali
        1x Sheria
        1x Horus

I don’t know what that all means yet (research!), but I think I have a L.Kali team, more or less – the question I’ll need to look into is whether that is simply a lateral move from Thoria, or an upgrade? (at the very least I could practice combos)

Cheers, and keep up the great work!

        • In general I think LKali is worse than Saria-Thor. LKali board changes have been outdated for a long time due even glass cannon teams needing to heal due to the increasing amounts of incoming damage and mechanics that make impossible to avoid it (preemptives, perseverance, etc). Sure, it could be good practice, but I’d avoid wasting resources on teams that don’t really get you anywhere nor allow you to reuse the resources elsewhere.

          • Thoria it is then, thanks! (I should have fully followed your advice, my future self might be missing a Wukong or Perseus, hehehe ;P)

        • Wow, I could cry haha. I threw in all of my collected stones on day 2 (only 4 rolls) and got zero godfest or featured pantheons on day 2.

Questions: I just rolled Ronove, but I only have enough for a jank team. Should I invest in this team (+’s)? Is this going to be better than my current teams? Will people just laugh at me in co-op and tell me to leave their rooms? How many questions do I get to ask? I’ve never had a cross lead nor have I used many rainbow leads so your expert advice would be greatly appreciated.

Team Rojank: Ronove + DKali + Typhon + Gadius + Linthia

    Thanks in advance!

    • I guess that team technically works, but I’d try to cut the Dragonbounds as quickly as possible. Gainaut is an “easy” replacement for Gadius. I’d also probably run Isis over Typhon for water coverage with Red Riding Hood as an assist skill. It’d also be nice to eventually replace DKali with Ragnarok Dragon. The team is still janky, but it’ll be much more consistent damage-wise. I think this is is a bit better than your others. Whether it’s worth +egging, I’d suggest playing with the team a bit in Endless and seeing if you like the playstyle and whether you think the potential is there before committing to a decision.
