Disclaimer: The aggregate list is basically a compilation of the leader tier lists from three JP PAD sites: Game8, GameWith and AppMedia. The idea is that while a single tier list can have many points of contention, hopefully an aggregate can kind of smooth things over (it doesn’t, really, but it helps a bit). I try to keep my hands off the results as much as possible; the extent of my involvement is setting the algorithm to aggregate the results. I wish I could be fully hands off, but as none of the lists have 1:1 correlation in their grades, I have to have that much involvement. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.

JP Aggregate Leader List Changes of Note

Card Notes
3202 - 慈悲之神・Acala
Change: Added to 3

The addition of fire crosses makes her a 2.25/1640.25/2.25 lead which, quite frankly, is amazing for a card without an ultimate. Sure, 182.25 is probably going to be your more common multiplier, but the potential to go that high is indeed valuable (piercing high defense monsters like PreDRAs, less reliance on damage enhances, etc). I wonder why they’re giving her so much love when so many older cards are rotting? Not that I’m complaining.

3238 - Reincarnated Minerva
Change: Added to ❀

I’ve downplayed Minerva and the revo Greco-Romans in the past and I still stand by my assertion that they aren’t great due to being too situational. However, I did qualify that, stating if they became extremely useful in a particular endgame dungeon I could see their inclusion. Well, that seems to be the case. Minerva stands out from the other revos due to her compatibility with Arena 1 and 3 (and presumably 2) and having a better active. Personally, I’m still looking forward to getting Minerva for the easy Arena 1 clears.

New Card Holding Tank

New cards will be held here temporarily in an attempt to isolate the aggregate list from knee-jerk ratings.
Card Notes
3223 - Old Castle Freeloader, Sonia Gran
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), AppMedia (S+)

I bashed Sonia Gran pretty hard in my Halloween REM review, but value aside, she’s still a Roots rehash and thus technically has the potential to make the tier lists. I strongly disagree with AppMedia’s placement (what’s new?), but I can live with Game8’s where she was replacing June Eschamali, a pretty questionable inclusion to begin with.

3222 - Crimson Orchid Black Witch, Xiang Mei
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), GameWith (B), AppMedia (S-)

The lists have Halloween Xiang Mei on the same level as her fire version, GameWith being the exception placing her higher. In terms of tier lists, I think they should be on the same tier, but have no huge issue either way.

3239 - Reincarnated Neptune
Change: Added to B

GameWith gives a nod to Neptune for the same reasons as Minerva, the main reason looking to be his ability to cheese Arena 3.

  1. Acala is now a 2.25/1640.25/2.25 lead. 182.25x atk multiplier for 2 crosses. You forgot to factor in the 2.25x unconditional boost to Wood att.

  2. Hey I apologize if this has been asked before but I need to understand the damage reduction on a ronove team. Every prominent website states that it is a 57.75% damage reduction on two ronoves that have 35% each. I can’t seem to find a equation to make that statement true based on what I know about the stacking of damage reduction. What is the equation? How does the mechanic work? Thanks ahead of time and thank you for the great work on the articles. Very insightful every week

  3. Perhaps it will be the wisdom king’s buffs that will change the meta.. their normal evo is already this powerful.

Unfortunately, I don’t have Minerva, so I might just pair her with Ilm for similiar Arena clears… I’m just curious about the gamewith addition of Neptune.. I was looking through his vids and subs.. and they aren’t as good as Minerva’s… or well, perhaps I’m just being short sited and looking at his attack buff.. not many devil attackers to fit his team..

    What are your thoughts?

    Like

    • And is Ilm really worth that 3rd tier rank? I always assumed that the pairing of Minerva/Ilm was the reason for her ranking

      Like

      • That’s what I thought too, but with her RCV multiplier she’s actually pretty tank for what was once considered a niche lead. Not really sure how I feel about it.

        Like

    • Yeah, Neptune is pretty bad, but I guess when your goal is to cheese, how good the card is beyond that doesn’t actually matter too much. I can’t really say much else since I haven’t put much research into it.

  4. Hey Setsu, I recently rolled my first Sherias-Roots and I’m asking myself if ASusano or AIndra is the better shielding option… My current team is:

    Sherias/DKali/Susano/Sakuya/Baldin

Outside of the SBR I can’t really find an Advantage since his shield is only two turns long…

    Like

    • The good thing about having options is you don’t have to limit yourself to one or the other. I like Indra as a general use sub better since he’s on-color and I value time extends heavily, but there are definitely places where Susano could be better since he’s a little quicker, reduces damage for longer and is bind immune.

      Like

    • I’m not Setsu, but speaking as someone who regularly runs Roots with both of those options available, I usually have Indra. There are a few reasons for this:
      1) On color
      2) Extra time
      3) Extra SBR (not usually a huge factor)
      4) Bigger shield for when it matters
      5) More HP
Susano might be situationally better for his unbindability, but most of the time I find myself running AIndra. If you have both, mess around with it to get a feel for what you like. If you have to make a choice as for what to invest in first, my personal recommendation is AIndra first then ASusanoo. They are both great subs and it’s worth having them around.

      • Thanks you your feedback! I already have botch penta-maxed so I’ll give both a shot and see what I prefer!🙂
Having these options and Sherias-Roots as a non IAP is a huge blessing😀

  5. Just though I’d point it out, but for your comments on Sonia Gran, did you mean “begin with”? Sorry, I saw the wording and just couldn’t ignore it😀

  6. I wonder how long it’ll take for Revo Lakshmi to get kicked off the list again

I’ve got two Acala on my JP account, but no good subs except for Elize. I might end up playing around with her, she seems pretty flexible. Gungho trying to make green teams great again, with some degree of success

    Like

    • Green teams are really at the top of the chain right now, they only lack in sort of the mid level range where Acala belongs. Red is the most neglected attribute right now and only slightly mitigated by the arrival of Krishna.

As for Lakshmi, I feel she’ll have some longevity as long as there is no insane powercreep soon. Her ability to hit 40k HP with the Super HP badge and heal up with one set of hearts really gives her staying power currently. Most underappreciated card in the game, I feel.

      Like

    • Green is so dominant right now it’s not even funny. Kaede, Ronove, Machine Athena, and of course Liu Bei, plus the newly buffed Acala – I can’t even begin to imagine what her ult will look like. No other colour comes even close to green’s death grip on the meta right now.

      Like

    • Fair enough.

Green teams are good, but unlike light and dark and even water, which have decent leads scattered around, Green is primarily… GFEs or Annihilation tier drops. Proper revival requires more than buffing a 6* GFE system to the moon and leaving most other things to rot (Looking at you, Bastet)

      Like

      • I’m not sure what you mean by your scoff at Bastet because she got BAcetet which is a VERY strong mid tier lead. Green has enough mid-tier options to no longer be left in the dust like it used to. BAcetet, Acala, Vishnu, ALB (not farming), and Parvati are all very good leads that many people have access to.

Honestly, green is in a very good place right now. Light has the strongest farmable lead which is one of the only reasons it’s not in trouble. Dark has very good mid-tier leads but lack in a variety of top tier. Blue is probably the most balanced in terms or tier distribution, but has few very top-tier powerful leads.

Red is in sort of a pickle, having decent leads but mostly kind of concentrated in the low high tier. ACC, Krishna, Xiang Mei, Revo Shiva, with Revo Minerva being the next strongest is not a good sign. Minerva is strong for farming a few dungeons, but I personally believe having a cheese lead being in your top 5 leads is a dangerous place to be.

tl;dr Green is not in a bad spot AT ALL. Every other attribute is doing okay, but red is struggling in comparison to the rest.

        Like

        • Now look here, once upon a time I was a bastet player along with everyone else. I know what she can do

And I know that Bastet was once a top tier lead. But now she’s not, forever obsoleted in endgame by the heart cross meta.

I just don’t like how the top tier green leads minus Acala all require specific teams, composing of dupe 6* GFEs or MP monsters when the others can use slightly more common subs. Even a couple of dupe Uriels is more common than a Kaede system

          Like

          • Sigh… Bastet got her Ace evolution which made her no longer obsolete. She is not on the tier list, but that doesn’t mean she’s not a very powerful leader anymore. And in terms of being obsoleted by heart cross, almost everything has, get used to for the near and forseable future.

As for needing a “specific team” you are only referring to Kaede, who first of all does not NEED a specific team to be amazing, she just has a team that will roll everything and secondly is THE strongest leader in the game. It better be hard to get that team. Ronove is the opposite of needing a specific team, he has so many options to choose from in farmables, pantheon drops, and GFEs that your point that greens are hard to build around is short-sighted.

Also, most top tier teams have optimal teams. It’s your own fault that you can’t look past them and make a team that performs almost as well with less exclusive cards.

  7. I am a bit confused about why Saras is still on the tier lists but YY is not. The two are very similar in leader skill and play style, with the main difference being how their LS scales. YY can burst much harder and is a little bit less orb hungry when you’re not reaching for those full multipliers which is the case in most instances. Saras’ biggest advantage is her constant skyfall buff, but if that’s valued so highly surely Vishnu’s 7.5x multiplier with triple prongs plus the RCV buff also deserves a place on the list? I’m honestly baffled by the decisions to drop YY but not Saras.

    Like

    • I’d agree that they’re basically on the same level, however, tier lists don’t always reflect rational thought. Newness and popularity have more influence on the rankings than they should and I’d like to think that’s the reason why Saravati is ranked higher than You Yu. There’s also a case of “it’s empty at the top”, meaning some lists will feel inclined to add leaders of a weak element just because. I’ve stated this before, but Game8’s A-tier will definitely skew the lower tiers since that tier is a “best of the rest, by element” rather than a true tier that lists cards by their own merit regardless of element. If it wasn’t done that way, maybe Saras doesn’t even make the list which would mean she probably doesn’t make the aggregate, either.

However, I’ll attempt to address some of your concern with something more tangible. I wouldn’t really say You Yu is less orb hungry. Sarasvati is 6 orbs for 25x and 9 for 100x. You Yu is 5 orbs for 25x, 8 orbs for 56.25x, 11 orbs for 100x, and 14 orbs for 156.25x. Yes, there are some nuances as to which is better than the other, but for the most part it doesn’t seem like that much of a difference to me. As for You Yu’s higher burst, yes, his raw multiplier is higher, but Sarasvati has an easier time of boosting damage through awakenings, rows in particular, due to not having to make a match-five to kick things off.

Another difference are the awakenings. Balance killer is one of the more useless killers while Sarasvati provides an extra time extend and skill boost on top of two rows. The skill boost is particularly important in an element whose best subs lack them. This also translates to better Carat and Sheen support.

You Yu has advantages, too, mainly his weighted stats, so I don’t to make it sound all one sided in favor of Sarasvati, but in my personal opinion I do think she’s slightly better. Does this mean they should be in different tiers? No, I don’t think so.

Vishnu should probably be getting more love. I’m actually very surprised he isn’t on the AppMedia list, but AppMedia has always been unreliable. I mean, they have Krishna on the same tier as Sarasvati, which is clearly wrong. Game8 is much more strict with their ratings so I trust them more.
