JP Aggregate Leader List

Disclaimer: The aggregate list is basically a compilation of the leader tier lists from three JP PAD sites: Game8, GameWith and AppMedia. The idea is that while a single tier list can have many points of contention, hopefully an aggregate can kind of smooth things over (it doesn’t, really, but it helps a bit). I try to keep my hands off the results as much as possible; the extent of my involvement is setting the algorithm to aggregate the results. I wish I could be fully hands off, but as none of the lists have 1:1 correlation in their grades, I have to have that much involvement. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.
Update: Tier list was regenerated to factor in the recent Game8 updates. Diffs are still based off of last week’s scrape.

Ranked Sites: Game8 (AA)
I haven’t had time to research Rei or Kaworu, but just looking at Rei’s leader skill, while the multipliers are impressive, it appears the lack of consistency will prevent her from ranking higher. The somewhat awkward active doesn’t help, either. |
|
Ranked Sites: Game8 (AA)
Kaworu seems to be fine in the damage department, but his effective HP pool being limited to turns of leader skill activation will limit his consistency. Team building also seems to be a bit difficult, being in a similar position as Ra Dragon a year ago where you have to find a place to squeeze in a double SBR sub within the type and color requirements. However, unlike Ra Dragon, Kaworu isn’t as worth the effort since there are strong alternatives. |
|
It appears my original assessment of her being on par with her dark form was correct, although it didn’t take a genius to come to that conclusion. It looks like GungHo is reconsidering the Gremory buffs, though, but I still wonder if it’ll be enough to reverse her fall. |

Hey setsu, why is Ra dragon so good? I know it has a crazy multiplier, but compared to let’s say, Gremory, who has heart cross with same multiplier or Aizen, who can shit on literally every dungeon in game or even Athena and Ichigo who can run mono… What makes Ra dragon better than all of those cards?

Indra

I think that is the team right? Indra isn’t bind immune.
Or was Indra replaced by another card?

Kanna.

Now that RaDra has SBR, you don’t need Indra’s 2x SBR, and now that he has an HP multiplier, you don’t need Indra’s shield either. Basically eliminated any reason at all for using him, so you can replace him with L/L Kanna: MASSIVELY increased damage, and now that the entire team is unbindable, Isis can be used as a permanent DKali inherit.
LikeLike
I know people still use Indra as an assist skill for Arena 3, but yeah, you don’t need him as a base sub anymore.
LikeLike
If I don’t have Kanna can I use Indra in place of her? Also what is a good replacement for DKali? I only have one.
Thanks!
LikeLike
The only halfway acceptable replacement for DKali is Lightning. I feel if you’re not running all gods there’s not much point to running the team (unless you just really don’t have any other options, but that’s hard to believe in the game’s current state).
You can run Indra, but I wouldn’t consider him a replacement for Kanna since you’re running her for damage, not utility.

What do you guys think of the new balboa evo as a Isis replacement
LikeLike
He’s alright. You don’t really need/want killers on Ra Dragon, though, since, unlike TPAs, you can’t control when they’re active or not. The long cooldown on a mostly useless active isn’t great either. But you do what you gotta do and he’s probably one of the better straight replacements tbh.
LikeLike
Indra was replaced by unbindable Light Kanna as Ra Dra gained an SBR awakening.
Also, Grem is reliant on skill use and her awakenings are merely passable. Lastly, as strong as Aizen is, he still lacks the HP to tank large hits due to lack of HP multiplier. HP badge and inheritance can only do so much.

No Eva collab units yet, more specifically Reimyr or KaliKaworu?
How do you think they will do tier wise when they come in especially when compared to leads like Aizen?
LikeLike
Uh, not sure, I haven’t done any research on them tbh. But even before Game8 updated their list it felt like they’d be in Noctis territory which is where they put them.
LikeLike
Any thoughts on how Aizen is superior to Reimyr considering that meta now is cross shields? Subwise, i think Rei is a little bit more strict and Aizen’s damage is just really easy to proc but he doesn’s seem as tanky as Rei.
LikeLike
Aizen appears to be better in most cases. Yes, not having a large effective HP pool hurts, but Rei also has problems with activation consistency so, at the very worst, that’s a wash. However, where Aizen can easily run something like a damage shield or stack HP buffs, Rei has no such option to address consistency of activation.

It feels like game8 waited for your post before they changed their list. Now kaede’s high tier rank seems to fade.

Summer Myr two tiers below Myr in Game8’s list…
but why 😦

Sub pool is significantly worse on top of light being the better element due to no elemental weakness. Water has no way to match the effectiveness of bind immune subs like Ariel and Kanna nor has an orb change like June Akechi.
LikeLike
Do you think she should be there 2 tiers below? I don’t believe she’s on the same level as Krishna and she’s more tanky and consistent than DAthena.
LikeLike
Not necessarily that low, but I also don’t have a huge problem with it either. It feels like they’re trying to make a point more than anything. I’ve mained Summer Myr on my alt for a while now and I do feel the limitations of the element and sub pool so I do understand what they’re trying to get at. I also don’t have a huge problem with anything rated above her, but I do think she’s in some strange company at her current tier.
LikeLike
Do you agree with game8’s rating of aizen over kaede? I feel like even though aizen is so consistent and flexible, kaede’s tankiness gives her the edge.
But I can see aizen being better since his optimal sub pool doesn’t involve rolling him 3 times
LikeLike
Tier lists are based off of optimal teams, which would be 3 Kaede. And what do you mean Aizen over Kaede? They are ranked the same? But even if he was, it would be for the ease of activation, as Setsu mentions when comparing her to RaDra and Myr. IMO Kaede is still definitely stronger right now.
LikeLike
I don’t think Game8 rated Aizen over Kaede, they’re in the same tier. While there are inconsistencies, they try to order things by element.
To answer your question, no, I don’t think Aizen is better (but then again I haven’t played Aizen nearly as much as Kaede so I’m biased). I think, for the most part, Kaede is stronger, but I don’t have a huge problem with them being in the same tier, either. Not everything in the same tier is going to be on exactly the same level.

Ah people still get confused over this. The monsters in the same tier are ordered by element and not rating.

Yeah, you need DKalis to even consider the team. I’d stick with your current teams who are much easier to team build for.

Obviously a great card. If you’re asking in the context of Ra Dragon, probably something you’d rather inherit, but should suffice as a base sub.

Wow, didn’t see the Kaede drop coming, but compared to bind immune monsters like Ra Dragon and Light/Blue Myr I can now see why it’s justified. It’s not like binds are end-all be-all but the convenience of bind immunity for both leaders (or in Ra Dragon’s case, the WHOLE DARNED TEAM) is such a huge step-up once you reach the end game to end all games, which is a huge influence on this tier list (*coughs*ARENA3*coughs*).
Can’t wait to never get DKalis so I can never have a Ra Dragon :^) Myr is good enough, I am finally appreciating Ariel’s goodness as a sub, just not so sure who to replace with her…

Yeah, the difference between each tier is pretty slim at this point so “small” things like that are what end up making the difference.

Hey setsu, isn’t Ichigo still a very strong lead? Overkill active, a pretty good LS and huge sub pool are all things he has. Why was he kicked off from the majority of the tier lists? Also ideally, what’s the best possible team for him?

A year has passed but you still manage to be annoying. Sad.
Why isn’t he good? I don’t know, you tell me. I didn’t just write a review on him or anything. Ideal teams? You’ve been here long enough to know that an “ideal team” is a stupid idea. Dark things with dark rows that make dark orbs that are good in the dungeon you’re clearing, I’d imagine.

I laughed quite a bit at the reply. Thanks for taking the time to write it, and to housekeep posts, reading the comments here has brightened my day. Random longtime lurker.
Tangentially, am intending to try Balboa over Isis on RaDra on the presumption inheriting the new GFE that counters damage absorbs makes the killers a plus and not a liability. Having to use an active for the effect may be too high a cost for the passive killers benefit being often superfluous or overkill, but if RaDra is overpowered most places and the shield/killers can help on radar floor or Anniliation percentage, just maybe… Probably premature conjecture prior to knowing how Reincarnated Isis will look.
Wishing you a wonderful and fun New Years.
Happy gaming.

Hi Setsu,
What are your thoughts on the MP dragons now? Especially Ra Dragon and Yomi Dragon that are very strong leads. Before, I remember you recommended me not to get any of those MP dragons due to better leads available and expressed that RagDragon is the better value purchase. Now that the situation has changed, do you recommend purchasing Yomi/Ra Dragon again?
I was leaning towards either of them cause I have 3 Dkalis/Kanna (no Isis tho) and Yomi Dragon for easy Arena farm/Still the best Dark unbinder? (Hoping to use him on Noctis). I am mostly just interested in them cause I wanted a change of pace/another end game lead to use aside from the heart crosses.
Although I already have an ideal Row/Tpa Myr team/Ronove team with Rag Dragon for my end game leads.. and ShivaDragon/Liu Bei for End game Farming… , would you still recommend purchasing either of them for value?
Thank you.
LikeLike
I don’t see a problem going with either if you’re looking for a change of pace and you think they’ll increase your enjoyment of the game. I’d probably go with Yomi Dragon, personally.
I do wish they’d release some new MP cards, though. The fact that there’s almost nothing worthwhile in the MP shop is pretty depressing. I haven’t bought anything meaningful in months.
LikeLike
Yeah I do think not having new MP cards have made me feel a bit stagnant on my MP purchases.. I guess if they provide us with those 300k MP like JP has, it would make decisions a bit easier… Even tho MP is farmable now, its still a decent amount. I was also leaning towards Yomi Dragon too because of his versatility, similar to Ragnarok Dragon.. Is that why you recommended Yomi Dragon over Ra?
Only reason I was thinking of Ra dragon was just to be able to have another end game lead.. I figured it would be easier to combo with Ra Dragon to get to 6/7+ combo than it is with Myr heart crosses. but looking at it now.. dungeons that require high combo counts are only a handful.. so I guess Yomi Dragon it is! Perhaps I’ll skip buying him now and see if I can even get Hera Dragon first looool

I figured if you already had an endgame team you didn’t need Ra Dragon. I also wasn’t sure if you had all the inherits. I like Yomi Dragon’s ability to quickly farm, but the choice is really up to you.

I wonder, with the new inherit system, what’s the best inherit target for radra team.
I’m thinking something like:
Radra – lightning
Dkali – Dkali
Dkali – new gfe
Kanna – Facet
Aisis – A orochi
Radra – Indra or Genie
LikeLike
I think that’s pretty close to what most people would run (assuming they have the cards, of course).

I personally favor the facet on the friend RaDra, due to the RaDra friend often having several SDR latents so that end floor bosses can’t skill delay you off the gemstone burst as easily. Of course you could put SDR on Kanna instead, if you care about that. Also as unless your RaDra partner is a reusable best friend, it’s easier in my experience to find Carat inherited friends than Indra/Genie inherit ones, several nonBFF friends deep, though that could just be local friend finding effort.
I also tend to BB Orochi or SQ inherit on Isis variously, favoring recycleable delay or extra +1 turn delay, depending on my descend needs when chasing down the hardest dungeons, going in for one extreme or the other, but I can appreciate that is a bother, and the percentage small.

I’m really talking about the benefit of inheriting same color cards to get the added stats. For example, AIsis is B/G, so is AOrochi, so you automatically get the bonus stats from AOrochi.

I’ve always been surprised Kaede was so high on the list, tbh. She’s really orb hungry and you have to devote a whole sub to bind clearing. Not the end of the world.. but against Myr and RaDra who have nearly complete freedom from such sub requirements, there really isn’t a comparison.. yeah Kaede’s damage is a bit better than Myr, and her survivability is a bit better than RaDra. But her subs are sooo much more restricted than both, binds freakin suck, and she is one of the most orb hungry leads in the entire tier list.
LikeLike
Kaede was most definitely the best lead in the game. It took the release of uevo Kanna (and a buff to Myr) to signal a change of the guard where Kaede hasn’t gotten a impact sub or even assist skill upgrade since her release (although Vishnu and revo Parv and Susano are fine). You’re overexaggerating the orb requirement; it isn’t hard to get the requisite orbs and you rarely need the three-wood activation, but it’s definitely a drawback compared to Myr now that Kanna is considered a standard sub (and it’s not like full rainbow activation is particularly easy, either). I don’t see the logic in saying her subs are restricted, either, since tier lists don’t care about that anyways and Ra Dragon needs a specific set of subs that are also 6-stars and is much more restricted on what inherits are needed.
LikeLiked by 1 person
Good points. Perhaps I AM over-exaggerating the orb requirements, and it boils down to player skill, more so. Maybe she’ll get a sub buff or something and that’ll move her back up. Unbindability would do it, and the new Grodin looks pretty nice.
I remember your article talking about how Kaede and the heart-cross reinvigorated your enjoying the game. (:

And yeah, I’d consider RaDra an ultimate luxury team on par with the rolling requirements of Kaede, for sure.

That was when Kaede was basically the only cross lead. I didn’t anticipate the majority of the upper tiers being occupied by that mechanic, especially not Myr making it so accessible. If anything, though, it made me a better puzzler.
I don’t anticipate Kaede climbing back up the list. It’s almost never happened historically without a new ultimate. I guess you never know when/how GungHo will want to make money again.

Few questions, if you don’t mind answering.
1. Currently, my strongest endgame team is XM, who’s slowly losing her place in the meta as we speak, if it’s not already gone. I have DKali, RKali, kanna, NYkanna, Orochi, and Isis so I’m planning on buying RaDra too. Is it a smart purchase, even though I don’t have other Dkali boards or burst options for inheriting?
2. With the updates to the NY REM, what are your thoughts on the two Kannas for an ideal radra team?
3. Lastly, do you plan on reviewing the additions and changes to the NY REM?
LikeLike
1. If you feel that XM is preventing you from clearing content as consistently as you’d like, then Ra Dragon is a great investment. Lacking inherits will hurt, but you can always make friends with people that cover what you lack, like Lightning/Facet/Carat/Indra/whatever.
2. tbh I don’t know. I’d personally run NY for the time extend, but I can see where the skill boost would be useful for shorter dungeons. I’d just swap depending on the situation.
3. I will when it’s announced for NA.

I don’t think sub attribute damage is a big deal. Say your Kanna does 6mil, you’re missing out on 600k damage at most.

Why is DAthena so high on the list? Doesn’t she suffer the same drawbacks as UUvo Ichigo where she is not able to stall since the damage and recovery multiplier have the same activation clause?

Athena has a static HP multiplier and is bind immune; big difference. You have the HP pool to take hits, then activate at your convenience. A matching requirement is much better than an active one. Her sub pool is also much more forgiving, not being restricted by rainbow color matching.
