Disclaimer: The aggregate list is an average of the tier lists from multipler JP gaming sites. It is compiled automatically by a script. I endeavor to have as little influence on the results as possible. Feel free to refer to the FAQ. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.

New Card Holding Tank

New cards will be held here temporarily in an attempt to isolate the aggregate list from knee-jerk ratings.
Card Notes
3524 - 水華の喜女神・Uruka
Ranked Sites: Game8 (SS), AppMedia (SS), Altema (SS)

I was skeptical of Uruka at first, but after watching a few videos, it’s hard to deny her power. Perhaps her biggest draw is her ability to raise the consistency of color-match leads with her 7×6 board which is particularly good for middle-tier ones like Kaworu Kali and Rei Myr. The added bonus being you don’t have to roll Uruka herself to benefit. I’ve never been a fan of 7×6 boards, but I’m eager to try her out on NA to see if she can change my opinion.

3527 - 清杖の龍機博士・Julie
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), Altema (A)

Julie(?) is a leader that benefited greatly from her evo, getting an offensive bump up from 36x to 56.25x. This makes her a 2.25/56.25/1 leader with a 43.75% shield which is a good combination of offensive and tankiness not all that far off from something like Myr. Of course, the usual complaints of bind vulnerability and killer damage control cap her potential. Still, she’s arguably the best actual water lead in the game, rivaling Summer Myr, and one of the best to take advantage of water’s growing TPA sub base.

3513 - 救書の灰幻魔・Ilmina
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), AppMedia (S-)

Unlike Uruka, I’m not as optimistic about Ilmina. There’s a big difference between 4.5x and 6x and Uruka’s more demanding activation isn’t as much of a drawback on a 7×6 board. Despite that, Ilmina is still pretty great and, as with her base form, should see some amusing pairings with cross leaders, the updated uevo Kenshin likely being the most relevant of those available to NA. Pairing a ridiculous multiplier with a 43.75% shield seems pretty good.

3491 - Reincarnated Haku
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A)

After playing revo Haku firsthand, I can say she’s very strong, although I think Game8 probably has her a little overrated relative to the rest of their list. She’s basically a much worse DAthena, but that is still a pretty good place to be. While Haku can compete with DAthena’s tankiness and ease of activation, the lower damage and lack of bind immunity are obvious shortcomings. The 7-combo awakening and strong TPA subs bring enough damage for most situations, but it isn’t something you’d want to face a Radar with. Being able to fully utilize uevo Satsuki is quite nice, but despite the quad TPAs she does damage similar to the leads or a DAthena sub and the devil killer is a liability. Having to dedicate a sub slot to bind utility doesn’t hurt as much since activation is so consistent, but is still a drawback when much of the current meta is based around saving actives over long dungeons to deal with those 2-3 problem floors. Despite this, I’m happy to see finally see revos creep into the fringes of the tier lists; hopefully future ones will have a similar power level.

3507 - Reincarnated Astaroth
Ranked Sites: AppMedia (S), Altema (A)

I’ve been spoiled by today’s top leads. After watching a few Astaroth videos, all I could think of was the amount of effort you had to put into her activation. Six wood orbs usually results in about one million damage per sub so you almost always have to use an active to burst. It’s funny how that is thought of as high effort nowadays, but Aizen and DAthena are just that ridiculous. Comparisons aside, Astaroth looks to have quite a few things going for her this time around. Being bind immune is always huge, but my biggest complaint previously was a shallow sub pool with very few time extends. Well, not only does Astaroth have one herself, but Romia can serve the role of TE stick while also supplying an board change that is compatible with Astaroth’s orb change.

3514 - 裁槌の鋼星神・Elgenubi
Ranked Sites: Altema (A)

I was a bit surprised to see Elgenubi appear on even the fringes of any list. A 2.25/36/2.25 line is not bad. Until you factor in the machine restriction and match-five activation.

Game8 Changes of Note

Card Notes
2969 - Star Cutting Time Dragon Caller, Myr
Change: SS➞S

This is by far the biggest change, but after being able to play Ra Dragon, Aizen and DAthena all firsthand, I can say that Myr simply can’t compete. As much as her TPA team optimized her efficiency and consistency, it’s nowhere close to the aforementioned teams. Add the lack of offensive scaling and there’s really no choice. Still an incredibly strong lead. Still able to clear just about everything with ease. But when we’re talking about the best of the best, the slightest margins matter and Myr loses.

  1. When Myr appeared I was glad a top tier card, could be available without relying on luck as you can just farm her, but I honestly I dont like heart cross leaders…,then the expected happened, she was over hyped and everybody played her, this was cool as people got to play lots of content, however it make things boring as everyone would end up using her always , now Im really happy to see Gungho is trying to come up with new mechanics to swift the meta to a different direction,as you said it is not she is being bad,nor any of the other heart cross leaders, it is that the meta is changing. Looking for the next following months as I think things will get really interesting.

    • BMyr was always worse than Myr since Water < Light. Also BMyr can't really run a TPA team because of the lack of subs.

If Myr's power is declining, than it unfortunately will hit her beach form even harder…

  2. Since RHaku slightly lacks on damage, would pairing her with RYomi still be viable? It puts you around 1.4/81/1.4 which will still give some tanking but quadruple the multiplier that haku gives paired with herself.

    • People have done done that I think. However, I believe the main problem that stems from that is that you need 9 dark orbs to take advantage of the full multiplier while still taking advantage of your TPA subs. Whether or not this is a concern, I don’t know, but combining a match 5 lead with a TPA lead has it’s fair share of problems I’d imagine

      • Pretty much what I would’ve said.

Generally, mixing and matching two different types of leaders leads to a diminished effect for both. You make the activation that much more difficult and, as Argly pointed out, mixing in TPAs, the main source of Haku’s team damage, is not only rough, but makes hitting 7-combos all that much harder. Without those awakenings, the team damage will be poor because even if the raw multiplier for a match-five lead like Yomi is decent, in practice it’s not as good as it looks since you can’t leverage TPAs. Haku’s main strength is ease of activation without needing actives to do so and adding Yomi on top of that kills that advantage.

  3. In seeing these tier lists and watching videos it strikes me as surprising that Green Odin Dragon is not getting more love. He’s not extremely fast but he does have the ability to stall forever on floors where he can and save orbs. Thereby not requiring you to really have to burn actives. He also can run teams with very high base HP and inherit something like Susano for 5 turns of 50% damage. He’s not Acala where you get extra HP as well as RCV but he does have that damage potential and yet he’s left off while she is not.

Damage control is easy enough too since you need a cross in order to kill. Sopdet and Parvati now become easy to handle instead of awful like most teams (sans Fujin).

      • These tier lists are generally shy of adding tankier cross leads that don’t have an inbred ATK increases like Aizen does. Needing 10 orbs to deal 150x and having to manipulate the board in a specific way to do it can be tough and does present weaknesses to combo shields and the like. Personally where I feel Grodin Dragon overcomes that is his ability to stall so well with just random matching. This allows you to store orbs while saving actives. Also you can use something like CTW to set up your boards to take advantage of multiple combos and a burst. With his high damage multiplier as well with 3 crosses you can afford to run something like Khepri to allow you to make up your damage on this 8+ combo shields.

He won’t be the fastest clearing lead, but definitely consistent.

  4. I’m surprised Kenshin isn’t up there in those JP tier list.. figured like he would at least be in the A category.. I guess the shield isn’t as good as I thought. Glad he got buffed tho, I was disappointed that my first ever gold 6 star collab wont be collecting dust lol

    • Well, if you’re talking about the new awoken ult, there are some flaws (Assuming padguide is correct). He needs 5 fire combos to hit full multiplier. 5 fire combos. I can see a pairing with Krishna work, but he seems a little impractical atm because of how his multiplier scales

In terms of the other evolution, I would agree, considering that Ilmina gives him the 7×6 board that he needs to shine. The shield is also great. If Ilmina proves to be worth her place on the tier list, I can see Kenshin following suit at some point

      Like

    • It’s hard to tell if they just don’t like him or haven’t had the opportunity to update. Considering light Ilmina has made the lists, I’d imagine Kenshin will get some future love, but who knows.

  5. just noticed game 8 eliminated rank SSS and now higher rank is SSS, shared by Ra Drag, D athena and Aizen… find it funny to happen as Ra drag has just been released in NA…..

  6. With all of the Mp dragons newly evolved forms coming into North American what are your thoughts on Neptune Dragon, Without even realizing it, I happened to have 4/5 of the mats needed and the only thing that I need to acquire is awoken Noah which should not be a problem at all. Is the card useful for end game? farming? or even for fun? My teams are Ultimate Ra dragon, Myr, Aizen so it would be more of a luxury monster then a need

    Like

    • The only use I can think of is to pair with Meridionalis for farming if you don’t have one yourself. There are potential niche sub uses for farming, too. I can’t really see him being useful in the endgame proper, though, especially with the leads you already have.

As for fun, that’s something you have to decide for yourself. Personally, I can’t see him being a fun lead, needing so many orbs to activate.

      Like

      • thank you for the reply, I have been trying to find a reason to buy him besides the fact that I have 4/5 mats needed to ulti evolve him but ultimately unless he gets a buff he is quite horrible , 18 orbs for only a 100x is blah lol

  7. Setsu, do you think that Rei Myr would rise much, much higher due to Uruka’s strength? I noticed Altema did rise her to the same rank and I just wanted to hear your opinion on the pairing of those two leaders.

    Like

    • This is where we have to separate the shortcomings of the list opposed to the reality of a card’s strength. As long as Rei Myr is a good pair with Uruka, she’ll be a strong leader choice. However, that won’t necessarily be reflected in the tier lists. Since Uruka has several competent leader pairs, most lists have chosen to not reflect them in their actual lists, instead covering that in their Uruka team pages. Which makes sense because Uruka is what enables those leads, not the other way around. As such, I don’t expect Rei Myr to show up in the lists as a leader pair with Uruka and thus not move much in the aggregate. I think Altema is the exception (and it looks like their inclusion of Rei Myr as a leader pair is more of an example case rather than the definitive case).

  8. Setsu, what do you think about upcoming pairs in the kenshin collab. for example, Awoken Kenshin+Kinnikuman, or Ichigo+ Saito’s new ult?
