Godfest Help Post: 9/30-10/1

Grading scale. The individual grade is a composite grade of all monsters in it relative to all other pantheons. The combined grade is a composite of all monsters in both pantheons relative to all other combinations of pantheons. Combined grades are not an average of the individual grades, but based on the normal distribution of all possible two-pantheon combinations.

Wow, we actually get a decent notice this time? Amazing.

This is a help thread, so please feel free to ask questions on just about anything concerning the godfest or your teams, box and progress in general.

Please read the rules before posting, especially if this is your first time:

  • I will only take box questions that supply a PADherder. It makes it much, much easier for me to give good advice this way (you could say I can’t give good advice without the sorting options). Try PadListener to sync if you’re on Android (if it works for you), otherwise use this method.
  • Box/roll questions that don’t supply rank, IAP status and main teams will be ignored. Any other information you want to supply will only help.
  • Please check the FAQ after the break before asking a question. Questions that aren’t covered by the FAQ will be prioritized; questions that don’t may be ignored.
  • I have WordPress set to flag comments with multiple links to combat spam. I still get the comment, I just have to approve it manually for it to show up on the site. So if your comment doesn’t show up, this might be the case. Ideally, only post a single link to your PADherder.
  • I generally reply on a first come, first serve basis, but if there’s a low hanging fruit I’ll address that first.
  • I will post thread status as bold red comments. Make sure you read these comments before posting to make sure you aren’t violating the rules. I’m no longer segregating comments by day, instead I’ll indicate how many questions I be able to take for a given thread in the first status comment, then stop taking new ones after that.
  • No new questions will be taken after the godfest ends. Questions asked in other posts may be ignored; please wait for the next godfest!
  • Follow-ups to existing questions will be taken as long as the post is still open for comments.
  • I’ll close the post for comments a few hours after the godfest ends.
  • Any comments breaking the rules will be removed without warning.

Alt Box Analysis: My Friend’s Rank 428 Non-IAP Account

PADherder (link defunct since I accidentally overwrote the data with my main account and have no way of restoring it, sigh.)

I inherited this account from one of my IRL friends. His interest in the game seemed to be waning, so he’s letting me take care of his account while he takes a break of indeterminate duration. The goal is to set him up as well as possible for whenever he wants the account back or, in the worst case, have an alt account that can permanently co-op with my main.

Alt Box Analysis: JP Non-IAP 20-Box

img_2302

One of my ideas for a new post series is to follow the journey of one of my alts. My main account is fairly boring to chronicle as it has just about every card and can clear every dungeon, but a non-IAP account is more interesting; not because it’s non-IAP, but because the decisions mean more since you can’t just use your credit card to cover up mistakes or bad RNG. Since I’m unsure which account I want to write about — sadly there’s no way I have enough time to write about all my alts, let alone play all of them seriously — I’m first going to go over each account, analyze the decisions I’ve already made on them, and plan out where I want to go in the future.

MZeus Solo Clear

img_0973

I’m still not quite enthusiastic about doing co-op, but it’s a tool waiting to be used, so I may as well use it. This will probably be one of those things that I enjoy more as I get used to the process. Although I’m looking forward more to co-op Liu Bei with Dios swipes than MZeus.

Thanks to Nez for the solo guide. Not 100%, but I’m not sure any MZeus runs are at this point. Now I can farm SDRs to my heart’s content. At the very least I’m going to recoup the SDRs I used to make the team and hopefully get a few random skill ups along the way.

Yes, that’s Odin Dragon.

First Arena 2 Clear

Of course, it was a fucking Bubpy.

Yeah. It took Xiang Mei’s release for me to finally get around and clear this turd of a dungeon. I only ran it twice before — once with Ra Dragon, once with Pandora, both before skill inheritance — but that was enough of a sample size for me to put the dungeon on hold. Now with Xiang Mei and SI, the dungeon is pretty much a joke. I remember it taking me several times to clear Arena 1 with Ra Dragon for the first time because rainbow teams were so foreign to me. Xiang Mei doesn’t have that problem. It only took a little while to get accustomed to fitting a row and three heart matches onto the same board.

I’m planning on making a script to generate the HTML for my team setup with SI, but I just haven’t had the time to do it. For those curious I’m using the pretty standard SI setup, but I’ll probably tailor it to my own needs as I get more experience with the team.

  • XM1: Shine Flare Ring (Saria)
  • XM2: Sunburst Knuckle (Awoken Ra)
  • XM3: Holy Crest (Arcline)
  • Uriel: Force (non-awoken Orochi)
  • Gadius: Miracle of Healing (Raphael)
  • XM4: Crimson Cross Spear (Sanada)

Everything has 2 SDRs. The SDRs allow you to reliably stall on the Kalis in case you need to recharge your Py-killing skill. The other latents don’t matter much.

Having to juggle inherited skills was a new concept to me. I’m so used to skill conservation being a high priority, but with XM you need to manage your cooldowns so the right skills (base vs. inherited) are available at the right time. This is especially true for XMs inherited with skills that don’t generate hearts; you don’t want to be caught with your pants down since you didn’t manage your skills correctly.

I originally had Genie on Gadius, but I feel like Raphael is more flexible. Like my first run, I mismanaged my cooldowns, was planning to stall on DQ Hera, but skillfalled to kill her early. I was left facing LKali with only Genie ready. Maybe that’s results oriented thinking — maybe I’d be singing Genie’s praises right now if I got DKali instead — but I think Raphael is an overall better fit (although I still need to kill Illsix with Raphael). Maybe when I get more comfortable with the team and familiar with Arena 2, I’ll go back to Genie. It’s just a shame we don’t have Fencer on NA. I’m also not sure if I want to run Awoken Orochi on Uriel instead to save five turns.

For my friend lead I actually really liked having Sanada available (thank you WWM). Using a Saria friend is fine and all, but for some reason I preferred Sanada. Since I have a lot more Sarias on my friend list, I might put him on my own if I continue to enjoy his services.
