Planning My MP Shop Sacrifices

With the MP Shop hopefully hitting NA within the next few weeks, I decided to finally take a look through my box and see what sacrifices could be offered to the altar of latent tamas. I was actually surprised that I had so little saved up as I’ve kept almost all my dupes over the past year (the exception being collab silvers used for skill ups), but after tallying the actual MP numbers I was fairly satisfied. I guess those RSonias can finally be put to use. The list of what I’m selling is after the break.

I’m somewhat apprehensive in selling any six-star GFEs since they’re so hard to obtain. The exception is DMeta since I have six of her. Luckily it looks like I’ll have enough MP so I won’t have to sell the others if I don’t want to.

MP Shop buy and sell prices were grabbed from PDX.

What to Buy

The cap is 999,999 MP so I’ll almost certainly sell everything I listed in the definite section — except the DMetas — right when we get the MP Shop. So, what will I buy with my 950,000+ MP?

2216 - 潜在たまドラ☆闇ダメージ軽減
It’s difficult what to make of the latent tamas. It appears that all of them will be farmable to some extent as invades in certain dungeons. They’re also just not all that great so it doesn’t feel good making such a big investment in them.

The two that most players seem to be gravitating to are the time extends and dark resists. Those are the two I’m most likely to go for too, but I’m still not sure what I’m going to use on who. Time extends seem fairly low impact. It seems like the only dark damage I really want to resist is Divine Queen Hera’s preemptive, but for most of my teams I’m going to need a damage reduction active to survive that anyways so I’m not sure if that’s the best use. This is something I’m really going to have to think about in the coming weeks.

1547 - Flampy
Pys are very pricey at 50,000 MP, but they could be worth it since py farming is one of the the worst things ever. I won’t buy Flampys, but I’ll definitely look into Woodpys and Badpys when they rotate into the shop. I’m hoping I’ll have the patience to farm them the normal way, though.

2253 - 破壊神, Shiva Dragon
I’ve already made clear my distaste for the MP Shop dragons. That part of me is telling me to not buy them, but the part of me that wants everything doesn’t want to miss out. I’m assuming that the dragons are on rotation and will be available near indefinitely, but I’m also fearful that someday they won’t be sold anymore and I’ll miss out. I probably still won’t buy any of them, but that fear will nag at me. I’m hoping the dark dragon is cool.

2298 - 創造の緑機操士・クラジュ=マキナ
There are also going to be monsters that are permanently available in the MP Shop. While I’m not necessarily going to buy the marionettes, things like that make me want to save my MP for the future as much as possible. Being able to prepare for the future based on JP was always a big advantage for us, but it could be particularly important here.

2290 - Snow-White Beauty, Valkyrie Claire
A big question is whether we’ll get the opportunity to buy Claire since we didn’t get the chance during the event. I’ll take the pessimistic stance and say no, but I don’t think it’s out of the question. The KR update will be a strong indicator either way.

  1. That wall of chibis weighs heavy on my soul just by looking at it.

Excited to toss some of my dupe GFE’s in there, but I’m hesitant about the rest. There will always be that worry in the back of my mind that those dupes I sold will be someday be buffed back into relevancy, or worse, become valuable as dupes. I guess that’s part of the game though, riding the wave of balance changes.

For now, I welcome Shiva Dragon with open arms if it means better speed farming. I think a lot of players (including myself) are one or two choice REM rolls away from an ideal farm team for anything tougher than normals/techs, and Shiva Dragon is like our surefire ticket in.

    • Fast forward to 2017 and MP shop chumps are going to be crying while I’m stomping everything with my incredibly OP Awoken Wee Jas system team, I can feel it.

    • I feel you on the GFEs. For 6-stars I’m keeping at least 2 and 5-stars I’m keeping somewhere between 2-4 depending on what I think may have potential for a system team in the future. The rest I’m generally okay with selling, but even then I’m fearful that I’ll regret it later.

  2. So I tallied up all the stuff I’m comfortable selling, and it turns out I have 787,000 in the bank day one. That number sort of shocked me as I’ve sold or fed off probably at least a hundred dupes since I started playing, including multiple GFEs. No regrets, there was no reason to hold on to them back then XD

So, my plan of attack for now: If I roll a second Ares before Shiva dragon leaves, I’ll buy him. If I roll my first Hermes before Neptune dragon leaves, I’ll buy him. I don’t see the use for Odin dragon. Hell of a Gonia sub though, a TON of rcv, and multiplied by 6? I MAY buy him if Gonia gets a buff. I will only be buying Ra dragon if I get a single D Kali by then.

However, I plan on buying the blue, and possibly the green Marionette to play around with. I’m in love with the actives, one hell of a clever twist all things considered, and I really think they will improve the stability of a lot of teams in Extrema Area. Like Shiva had troubles, but suddenly only needing to do 8.5 million damage against the boss rather than 17? Hell of a difference. Plus, the attribute change sticks around, so the remaining HP is effectively halved from ~20M to a meager (hah!) 10M damage. Same deal for Lakshmi, replace Bodin with… Charity? IDK, the blue one. Even though Lakshmi /can/ burst 17M, it does take a pretty darn good board. Like, three enhanced rows will do it, or two rows a three match, and like, eight combos, one of which is blue. All in all, easier fight. You still die to DQ hera’s stupid preemptive, but so does every other team, because who other than Anubis bothers to run a shield for a 20% spawn lol.

Also, I want the green one for Awilda cheese. Four awilda with five water resist latents each (farmed, not bought. I don’t have THAT kind of a budget lol), one of her, and an awoken Sumire leader. The theory is, you stall for the Marionette’s active, and you can skydragon cheese ANY level. Shields for preemptives, a pretty decent multiplier paired with a hell of a lot of OEs for faster killing, plus an on demand(ish) shield built into Sumire’s LS, 100% resist to water AND the ability to turn any enemy water on demand. Basically, this team takes cheese to a WHOLE new level.

I actually realized midway through writing this that the process can be MAJORLY expedited with Neptune dragon as a sub, but that requires dropping two awildas for skydragons, and 30 blue resist awakenings. The only major problems would be binds and poison boards, AKA bumping into Beelzebub. And there’s one, and ONLY one card that fits the bill: DKali. Full board changer, unbindable, bind clear awakening. So, my ultimate cheese team: Awilda/Dark blue sky dragon/DBSD#2/ NepDrag/Green Marionette/DKali. All with 5 blue shields each. Safe from binds, has a shield, poison to whittle away at the enemies, bind clear, board change, 100% resists blue, and turns all enemies blue. ULTIMATE CHEESE HAS BEEN ACHIEVED!!! Theoretically.

So yeah. I took a major rabbit trail there. In summary: I’m buying Nepdra and green marionette for sure, possibly blue depending on if I see a Lakshmi clear with her involved. Also my wallet openly weeps at the thought of how much money was spent on cards that are just going to be sold away…

    • The team you’re talking about is demonstrated here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FeC9wl_FnqE

Seems pretty janky, but I can see it as something you start before going to work then slowly working through it the rest of the day whenever you have time.

I’m reconsidering my stance on not buying the MP dragons for things just like this. Even if I don’t make the team, I don’t want weird things like this to be closed off to me since I was too stubborn to buy them.

  3. Hi, will you be saying anything on latent awakenings? As in which to get and how to customize one’s team with them.
