Godfest Help Post: 9/30-10/1

Grading scale. The individual grade is a composite grade of all monsters in it relative to all other pantheons. The combined grade is a composite of all monsters in both pantheons relative to all other combinations of pantheons. Combined grades are not an average of the individual grades, but based on the normal distribution of all possible two-pantheon combinations.

Wow, we actually get a decent notice this time? Amazing.

This is a help thread, so please feel free to ask questions on just about anything concerning the godfest or your teams, box and progress in general.

Please read the rules before posting, especially if this is your first time:

  • I will only take box questions that supply a PADherder. It makes it much, much easier for me to give good advice this way (you could say I can’t give good advice without the sorting options). Try PadListener to sync if you’re on Android (if it works for you), otherwise use this method.
  • Box/roll questions that don’t supply rank, IAP status and main teams will be ignored. Any other information you want to supply will only help.
  • Please check the FAQ after the break before asking a question. Questions that aren’t covered by the FAQ will be prioritized; questions that don’t may be ignored.
  • I have WordPress set to flag comments with multiple links to combat spam. I still get the comment, I just have to approve it manually for it to show up on the site. So if your comment doesn’t show up, this might be the case. Ideally, only post a single link to your PADherder.
  • I generally reply on a first come, first serve basis, but if there’s a low hanging fruit I’ll address that first.
  • I will post thread status as bold red comments. Make sure you read these comments before posting to make sure you aren’t violating the rules. I’m no longer segregating comments by day, instead I’ll indicate how many questions I be able to take for a given thread in the first status comment, then stop taking new ones after that.
  • No new questions will be taken after the godfest ends. Questions asked in other posts may be ignored; please wait for the next godfest!
  • Follow-ups to existing questions will be taken as long as the post is still open for comments.
  • I’ll close the post for comments a few hours after the godfest ends.
  • Any comments breaking the rules will be removed without warning.

Disclaimer: The aggregate list is basically a compilation of the leader tier lists from three JP PAD sites: Game8, GameWith and AppMedia. The idea is that while a single tier list can have many points of contention, hopefully an aggregate can kind of smooth things over (it doesn’t, really, but it helps a bit). I try to keep my hands off the results as much as possible; the extent of my involvement is setting the algorithm to aggregate the results. I wish I could be fully hands off, but as none of the lists have 1:1 correlation in their grades, I have to have that much involvement. Don’t take these ratings as fact; I encourage you to simply take them as a starting point for discussion to figure out which leads are actually the best for your specific situation.

The majority of this week’s movement came from Game8’s reorganization of their tiers, something that culminated in a more inclusive A-tier. As such, I’m removing their “popular leaders” section from the aggregate.

JP Aggregate Leader List Changes of Note

Card Notes
2969 - Star Cutting Time Dragon Caller, Myr
Change: 2➞1

I recently went over a similar change that AppMedia made, making light Myr one tier higher than Summer Myr. Her light version will always have an advantage in theory since light has no elemental weakness, but I don’t think that’s enough to separate them by a tier. People will bring up something like light having access to June Akechi which is indeed a huge advantage, but on the other hand I can bring up something like Summer Myr having access to Neptune Dragon to easily deal with shenanigans, Sopdet in particular. I think there’s enough back and forth like this to not separate them by a tier. However, in the end, it doesn’t really matter as all the heart-crossers can curb stomp just about everything in the game so getting worked up over their relative positions is just splitting hairs.

2924 - Rebellious Demon, Oda Nobunaga
Change: ❀➞3

A seemingly strange upgrade, but this is really only because Game8 added him back to their A-tier so it’s more like he’s back to where he should’ve been all along.

2259 - Sun God, Ra Dragon
Change: 3➞❀

Our boy Ra Dragon was able to stay on the tier lists for an entire year. There are very few leaders that have been relevant for so long, if ever (my early-PAD history isn’t so great so I can’t say for sure, maybe something like RSonia had similar longevity?). For early adopters, we sure got our money’s worth.

3115 - Goddess of Beach Volley, Lakshmi
Change: Added to ❀

Added to Game8’s revamped A-tier. I’d like to think this includes the normal Lakshmi as well who is arguably just as good if not better.

2261 - God of the Night, Tsukuyomi Dragon
Change: Removed from ❀

RIP. You farmed me literally hundreds of Pys. Your efforts won’t be forgotten o7.

2507 - Awoken Archdemon Lucifer
Change: Removed from ❀

Another RIP. I spent most of my efforts comparing you to Pandora instead of extolling your own virtues, but you were always a legit leader. And thus the old guard of awoken uevos was banished from the lands.

New Card Holding Tank

New cards will be held here temporarily in an attempt to isolate the aggregate list from knee-jerk ratings.
Card Notes
3068 - 灼天の勇将神, Krishna
Ranked Sites: Game8 (AA), GameWith (A), AppMedia (S), PadPlus (4)

I mentioned in the comments last week that I felt that Krishna was about as powerful as Xiang Mei and should probably be rated as such. Well, it looks like JP thinks he’s flat out better. I still think something has to be said for Xiang Mei’s nigh invulnerability, but I can totally see how a more proactive playstyle would be more appealing to the masses.

3218 - 最強裝備・Flintlock
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), AppMedia (S-), PadPlus (1)

As with the Kinnikuman cards, Flintlock looks very strong, but isn’t something I can evaluate accurately.

3070 - 均衡の創界神, Vishnu
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), PadPlus (7)

Vishnu isn’t as tanky as Krishna, but he hits harder and is plenty capable as a leader himself. With wood having a glut of great leaders lately, it’s easy to overlook him.

3202 - 慈悲之神・Acala
Ranked Sites: Game8 (A), GameWith (A), PadPlus (3)

I haven’t wanted a pantheon card this much in a long time. Acala isn’t an elite leader, but when’s the last time a normal evolution of a pantheon god has been as good as one? See you next year for their uevos.

Director’s Choice Carnival 2016.09.23

“Gala Ex.” refers to Gala Exlusives; the Legendary Heroes at 6-star and Gemstone Princesses at 5-star. “GFE Reject” refers to the former Godfest Exclusives; RGY and LZL at 6-star, GGY, GZL, Apocalypse, and Avalon Drake (who technically isn’t a GFE Reject, but is featured as one) at 5-star.
Director’s Choice Carnival Results 9/23/16 – 74 Rolls
Rarity # % Card Type # %
☆☆☆
☆☆☆
10 13.51% Gala Ex. 8 10.81%
Valkyries 2 2.70%
GFE Reject 0 0.00%
☆☆☆
☆☆
50 65.57% Gala Ex. 5 6.76%
GFE Reject 4 5.41%
Pantheon 8 10.81%
Other 33 44.59%
 ☆☆☆☆ 14 18.92% Other 14 18.92%

I haven’t rolled much of anything recently (by my standards, at least) so it didn’t take much convincing to roll this Director’s Carnival which featured more relevant cards for me than probably all the collab and special REMs for the rest of the year combined. What I really wanted was a Sheen for inheritance, but picking up all the missing Legendary Heroes (why is this series called this again?) along the way was a nice bonus. I won’t downplay my luck, especially since I didn’t get plagued by dupes, but it does seem like the gala exclusives are relatively easy to pick up here, especially when compared to the dismal rates they have in a normal gala.

I wouldn’t recommend rolling here, but for players like me where these are basically the only cards we don’t have, this is actually a surprisingly good opportunity. 13.51% is probably a misrepresentation of the actual chances to snag a 6-star, but from what I witnessed of other people rolling, the rates seem to be higher than one might usually expect, especially when compared to the usual rates for a 6-star GFE. I always wondered how JP players picked these cards up so easily, especially in dupes; now I have my answer.

So many Fruit Dragons.

Holy Fuck I Hate Biweeklies

img_0128

I try to keep my bitching about RNG to a minimum here — trust me, as much as I play, there’s been plenty of bad streaks — but I’m so goddamned tilted right now I need to vent some of my anger.

Probability of getting two or less Avalon Drake skill up drops in 14 runs: 0.65%.

So not even that bad and not nearly as soul-crushing as my Ares skill ups, but this feels particularly horrible on a non-IAP account. I hate biweeklies with a passion so that probably contributes to my tilt.

Yes, I went 0/2.

NA Alt Update 8.5: Godfest Rolls

img_0126

Account background: I’m playing this account for my friend. It is non-IAP outside the various special deals. The purpose of this account is to see how far I can take it being non-IAP, but I eventually envision spending money on it in order to co-op farm with my main. The initial box review can be found here; the entire series here.

Previous update

I managed to save a packs’ worth of stones and rolled them all. An interesting haul. I’ll go over each card after the break.
