So, this is a pretty substantial update to their tier list. Not only are the tiers now synced with their site’s actual monster ratings instead of “just eyeballing it”, there is now a panel of three writers that give reasons for the grade, although from what I can tell their explanations don’t really tell us that much. The weakness of my Japanese — and Google’s, for that matter — will become even more apparent. It’d probably be a good idea to get someone fluent to actually help me with these posts now, but that feels like it’d just be a flat out pain in the ass for both of us.
SS-tier is added to the sub list and the A-tier is removed. I’m not entirely sure why they had to add SS, but whatever floats their boat. There are some things I don’t necessarily agree with (Eschamali omitted, Artemis included, Cao Cao and Satsuki still at S), but the list looks better than it used to (cya, Liu Bei). I’ll still say sub lists are rather pointless, though, since what subs are good for a particular lead or leads is the important thing, not how good they are relative to each other with no context.
The leader list, however, finally got rid of that horrible game of musical chairs at A and is much better for it. While some entries may be questionable, I don’t have any huge problems with the new list. If it wasn’t obvious before, it’s now easy to see that light and dark are totally dominating the game now that token leaders from each element are no longer cluttering A.
Considering they just changed the format and I’m still debating what I want to do with this post series, I’ll once again pass on discussing the specifics until a later time.
ohhh exciting. I’m really interested in reading the comments.though I’ll have to get better at deciphering google translate lol

If someone wants to read the comments about a lead in particular, I could do it without much problem. I would have more issues with translating everything as this thing consumes time, but a bunch of them wouldn’t be an issue.

Thanks, I may take you up on this offer someday, but for now I don’t think there’s a pressing need.

Can somebody please explain to me why A. Bastet is still on the A+ list? I mean I have her as my main lead, having cleared most descended with her, but never seen her as a consistent lead for more endgame contents like Arena and Coop-focus. A list would be a better place for her.

I don’t know what you’re expecting. All the A+ leads have severe weaknesses in those areas.

Bye Sarasvati. You’re still one of my go-to leaders, and your solidarity during the game of musical chairs was impressive, but you just have too many weaknesses to modern gimmicks.

I’m not seeing how YomiD is a better purchase than ShivaD in a significant way.
ShivaD outranks it on average.

YomiD Being Unbindable is going to keep it as a more consistent leader, and a pretty big deal in high end clears.
I don’t know the specifics of Athena cup, but looking at those teams I’m going to guess it’s wood based with no binds to worry about.

Cups are about speed. Shivadra is the fastest. But he’s pretty bad in arena, and since arena gives you the only major reward in pad, its the basis for this list.
Py’s are the highest value reward. Arena therefore is the greatest metric Since its the best way to farm them.

I’m not seeing how ranking dungeons are the only criteria for a team’s worth.

More so, which teams are the very best depend of the particular Ranking Dungeon. One had a top 10 full of Ilm teams, other had pure RaDra… Now it’s ShivaDra. The Top 10 only tells you which team is truly the ideal one for a quick clear in that particular duneon.

It doesn’t matter since there are one too many bind clearers in the game right now, it matters much less if it can’t speed clear as fast as ShivaD.
On the other hand the average ShivaD team is much more expensive and has many dupes.

Shiva drag is better as a general farming lead and for day to day content, but this tier list focuses on arena, in which case yomidra is more stable. As a simple comparison, radra will never be as fast as any of the other leads if nothing else due to animation, but very few would deny his superiority to most leads.

I didn’t figure out Freyr was supposed to be Raoh’s partner until someone made a team-building thread on reddit. The numbers come out quite comparable to the blue and light tank teams in the same tier: a little bit higher ATK multiplier (for rows) for a bit less HP and RCV.

Also, AShiva now looks really out of place in A+ now that nearly all of the former S leaders have been moved down there without getting any significant upgrades in a long time.

I think the sublist is based on how many leads in total does the sub fall under (and of course the usefulness of the sub). Dkalis of course are not only the highest utility sub in the game (low cd full bord change with hearts and can bind clear, and has time extend and sbr), they fall under many leaders. All rainbow teams use them. The one true god uses them. and due to their utility (and other op dark subs) they made an entirely new archetype of sakuya.
And now we come to the real question? WHY THE HELL IS CAOCAO S rank sub. I think they used the same logic as dkalis. Cao cao is usable in every fire team except for shiva dragon (albiet, thats arguable the worst one not to be usable for). It has sbr, good distribution of attack awakenings (tbh its better to have 1 less row than only 1 prong) so it fits in basically every fire team. It has a skill that is at its best a delay and allows you to attack on the turn you delay, and worst a long cd single orb change.
However, i still dont think thats enough to keep it in S, but for sure he would be near the top of A+ subs.
On the other hand, we have “y is satsuki an S rank?” Its probably because due to tripel donger (which game8 loves way too much) , having a very good distribution of stats (hp>atk>rcv) and its active IMO is better than Raoh or constellation god active (Which are already very very good) because it doesnt break heal orbs, which allows a lot of versitility. It fits into every non yomi dragon, non row dark team (which is bad currently, but A.Yomi and technically Anubis can use her). Doesnt justify S tier as well, but justifies A+ teir.
Y isnt Echamali up there as A+ sub at least? because Game8 is crazy.
Y is Echamali A tier lead? because our lord and savior Paprika did arena with her. : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zijqbQSS-hM
