This is where my Spica video would be if they didn’t explicitly screw over wood with the Shieldras. Really, GungHo? In a fire dungeon of all places?

Well, That Was Fast
Gotta give GungHo props when they do right by us. I’m usually pretty negative when it comes to GHNA so it’s nice to have something positive to say for a change. 22 days is well beyond my expectations. Good job.
As PDX warns us, Aamir and Surtr are coming on Thursday so you can evo your Pandora(s) then, but also remember to pick up their evo materials, too (particularly the Keepers, if you’re reading this before midnight).
Noah Ranking Dungeon Results
I copied the top JP teams, but struggled to break 130k. Maybe I’m just doing something wrong (I already know I suck, so that’s part of it too), but it seems pretty hard to score well this time; I was expecting 130k to get me more than 0.3%. Maybe it’s just because it’s still early and crappier players haven’t tried yet? But this also means my score could go down, too, as there are also good players that haven’t tried in earnest yet. I guess I’ll find out tomorrow morning. I’m hoping this score will stand up for top 1% because I really don’t want to fish for a better result, but if my % drops a bit I guess I’ll grind out a better score to play it safe. This 130k score had very little skyfall help so there’s certainly room for improvement just from RNG.
I tried a few more runs this morning — courtesy of three-minute stamina — and managed to hit 131k and 0.1%. As always, when you suck, prioritizing speed and minimizing combo count is key (since there are very few people that can approach that 0.5 seconds per manual combo to make them worthwhile).
Scarlet System Skill Ups Completed in a Single Day…
…is what I’d say if I didn’t get fucked by skill ups at the last minute, but four Scarlets + Raoh should be enough for now. I was going to keep farming until midnight, but an 0/25 skill up streak put me on tilt so I decided it was better just to put off the fifth one for another day.
Also, if for some reason common sense failed you (it fails me all the time), doing this in a single day is a very, very bad idea.

Game8 drops another bomb; this time it’s the promotion of Yomi Dragon to SS. I won’t pretend to understand why this change was made. After all, I didn’t truly understand how amazing Ra Dragon was until I used it. It’s easy to look at things on paper and think “wow, that’s strong”, but you don’t get a true feel for it until you actually play with it. I’m running under the assumption that they now feel Yomi Dragon has a comparable Arena clear rate to Ra Dragon rather than anything that may have changed for the team (not much lately). I have a hard time believing any team can clear the Arena as consistently as Ra Dragon, but I’ll withhold judgment until I get a chance to play with it; hopefully in a few days. I was going to be happy just buying another quality farming lead, but if it’s comparable to Ra Dragon that’s a huge bonus.
Sure seems like Okuninushi should make the sub list now.
Edit: Thinking about it a bit more, this change makes a fair bit of sense. Assuming a team of Yomi Dragon / Yomi Dragon / Haku / Okuninushi / Zeus Stratios / Yomi Dragon, the team has all the tools to clear the Arena’s hurdles (at least what I consider hurdles from the perspective of my Ra Dragon team) and plays much easier than Ra Dragon. The earlier floors are much more consistent since they require less orbs. The RCV is essentially the same and the team has three heartmakers as opposed to two. Sopdet can be cleared with TPAs and the chance for surprise skyfall activations are minimal compared to Ra Dragon. Zhou Yu, Parvati and Kagutsuchi can be handled gracefully with Okuni’s delay. Extreme King and Meimei can be pierced with Okuni’s damage enhance. DQ Hera can be tanked with near full dark resist latents. Haku takes care of Beelzebub. Zeus takes care of the Kalis. Seems pretty solid. The only real question is if the damage is consistent enough over a long dungeon; it seems like a yes, but I’d still like to run the team in person before passing final judgement. I was going to buy two for farming anyways, so it’s all upside if it’s a consistent Arena team.
Also, I know many like to dismiss the value of tier lists and I agree the information they present can be dubious, but if it wasn’t for this I wouldn’t have investigated Yomi Dragon further and continued to be content with Ra Dragon. I think using these lists as a starting place for investigation and discussion is a fine use.

Not much of an update, but I thought the sole change warranted its own post: Baggi has fallen from the S to A-tier subs. I don’t think the demotion is justified, but one reason I do like it is that it might make people understand that water teams can be fully functional without him. I guess the change is just a reflection of the sorry state of water teams and that he isn’t quite as useful in off-element teams anymore. For high-uptime damage shields, fire has Phoenix Rider, wood has Armin and dark has DIza.
Now Cao Cao really seems out of place.

I really need to level up a Ganesha.
I didn’t restart any dungeons to get a better drop since I’d rather use the stamina on the Arena or 3x, but outside Lv10 I actually got pretty nice drops.
This challenge is 188 days old. JP had the first three awoken Egypt 1s and just got Awoken Shiva, Awoken Meimei and Cao Cao. Not as bad as the descrepancy we had for Challenge Dungeons 10, but it still would’ve been brutal to finish these dungeons with what they had available. On one hand, I’m disappointed that the dungeons won’t be as challenging for us, but on the other I’m glad I didn’t have to go through that nightmare and can get on with my life. I’m not sure I have a team outside Ra Dragon that could consistently beat Lv10. I’d have to get really lucky with Bastet, I guess.
