It’s been over two months since my last help thread. I’m looking to keep the question count low while I settle back in, but let’s see if there’s any interest in the first place.

This thread has become increasingly difficult to manage. I’ve thought it over, but I think the current system is the best considering I can’t modify any of the software on this site, the base WordPress comments offers no sort of moderator support and I want to allow anonymous comments for as long as possible. An external tool is not appealing, either. So the only thing that will change going forward is that rule breakers will have their comments removed, without warning. If it turns out too many people are breaking the rules, I’ll reevaluate how to manage this thread in the future, but for the most part people have been great so I don’t anticipate that.

With work sucking as usual, so much to grind in PAD and the release of Tree of Savior, I was debating just skipping this post this week. I’ll see how it goes, but don’t be surprised if I cut off the comments each day earlier and give less in-depth answers than usual. Anyways, here are the rules:

Freed From Doge Hell

Farming Takemikazuchi somewhat paid off. I was one skill up short on Mori and Keiji and finished them off today when I was farming for my Raphael and LZL (and Red Riding Hood). I wish I could say I don’t have to run the Wood & Dark Dog Dragon dungeon, but I have to get a couple skill ups for my Avalon Drake. At least the suicide hotline will longer have to expect my call when two Shibamarus spawn on the same floor and neither drops.

Well, I wasn’t expecting another godfest quite so soon (I am glad, however, that I have no need to roll). Neither day is a slam dunk, but there’s good value in both.

Day 1 features what is likely the best overall pantheon in the Chinese, but it also has one of the pantheons I dislike the most in the Indian 2. With Sakuya getting her awoken uevo, there’s no longer any weakness in the entire pantheon. The Indian 2, on the other hand, are a bit of a mixed bag, but at least the pantheon now includes arguably the best wood sub in Vishnu. Speaking of which, this day should be particularly tempting for wood users to roll as it includes the two best wood subs in Meimei and Vishnu.

I like day 2 better overall than day 1. The Japanese 1 are one of the few pantheons than can compare to the Chinese in overall value and I feel that the Sengoku are overall more useful than the Indian 2s. If you didn’t get the Sengokus you wanted from the previous godfest — and you still have money in your wallet — this is a fine day to roll.

There’s a few important things to note about this godfest review. First, GFEs are at 4x and pantheons are only at 2x; they are both usually at 3x. Additionally, all GFEs are available both days. This actually creates a bit of tension. Even though the bonus is boosted, there is an increased selection of GFEs which dilutes the pool. I don’t know exactly how these two things interact with each other, but I can’t imagine that 4x is a good as it sounds. It’s the largest boost any region has seen so far, though, so if you’re looking for GFEs then this is the time to roll. It follows that those that just want the pantheon gods should probably sit out. The pantheon rate is already pretty bad at 3x so you’re only doing yourself a disservice rolling during 2x.

Second, both days feature the new Sengoku gods. This doesn’t mean much for non- or light-IAPers, but it’s a nice bonus for heavy-IAPers. The Sengoku are quite good for not having uevos, but outside very niche uses — like Sanada on Shiva Dragon or Akechi on Typhon — they won’t see much use. However, this is a good opportunity for heavy-IAPers that are chasing certain 6-stars like ROdin or DKali to get some rolls that aren’t dupes. Sure, nowadays MP is MP, but someday the Sengoku will get their uevos so if all you’re chasing are GFEs it wouldn’t hurt to get some of them in the process. Think of it as a nice little bonus value.

Finally, I want to talk about the grades. I based my grades on the normal distribution with an average grade being a B. As more monsters converge in power level due to upgrades, the more that fall under B grades. I just want to say that a B grade is in no way bad, this is just how my rating system works; as there are less bad cards the great cards stand out less as the ratings converge to the mean.
